I nt roduct ion
The BP-S ( single plat e) and the BP-D ( dual plate) are single piece, powder- coat ed steel backplat es
designed t o accom m odate t he MP/ MPX enclosures, a Magnum invert er, and t he invert er hood (two of
each com ponent for t he BP-D) ; thus m aking t he com plete syst em appear seam less. These backplat es
also provide a non- com bustible surface for m ount ing t he invert er( s) on a wall. Designed with PEM ( i.e.,
internally t hreaded) nut s, each backplate is shipped wit h the necessary hardware for m ount ing t he
com ponent s listed above.
Mount ing t h e Backpla t es to t he W a ll
Mount all t he backplates to the wall using appropriat e hardware ( not supplied). The m ount ing holes on
the backplat es are spaced t o accom m odate wall studs that are placed 16 on cent er ( refer t o Figures
1 and 2) . I f t he m ount ing holes dont fall on wall studs, at t ach a sheet of plywood ( m inim um ¾ ) or
APA- rated sheathing on t he wall. The backplat es wit h the at t ached com ponents are heavy, so ensure
that all the backplat es are securely m ount ed.
I nfo: I f m ount ing m ore than one backplate, start with t he right- m ost backplate and work
to t he left .
I nfo: Each backplate has pre-drilled side holes ( see Figures 1 and 2, Detail C) which can be
used t o connect all the backplat es t oget her prior to m ount ing t hem on t he wall.
I nfo: For a cleaner look, the four at t achm ent clips on the far right backplate can be r em oved
( snapped off ) prior to m ount ing ( see Figures 1 and 2, Detail B)
CAUTI ON : I f you rem ove t he at t achm ent clips, you lose t he 16 on cent er m easurem ent
on both t he BP- S and BP- D backplat es ( right side of BP- D only) .
Mount ing Com ponent s on t he Ba ckpla t es
The dual backplat e is designed t o support t wo MP enclosures, t wo Magnum invert ers, and t wo invert er
hoods. You also have the opt ion t o m ount just one MP enclosure, a MPX ext ension, and t wo connect ed
invert ers. Once the backplat es are m ount ed, follow t he steps below t o at t ach ( in this order) the enclo-
sures ( MP or MPX), t he Magnum inverters, and t hen t he inverter hoods. Refer t o Figures 1 t hru 4.
A - En closur e s ( MP or M PX ex t e n sion)
Screw four Hex head bolt s halfway into the backplate where the enclosure will be m ount ed
( M or X holes) .
Hang t he MP/ MPX enclosure on t hose four Hex head bolt s using t he enclosure’s keyhole slots.
Tight en t he Hex head bolt s t o secure the enclosure to t he backplate.
Repeat steps 1- 3 to m ount any additional MP enclosures or MPX extensions (M2 or X2 holes) .
B - Magnum I nvert ers
Place the Magnum invert er on top of t he enclosure.
Secure the invert er t o the backplat e using four Hex head bolts and the invert er ’s keyhole slots
( I holes).
Tight en t he Hex head bolt s t o secure the invert er t o t he backplate.
Repeat steps 1- 3 to m ount any additional Magnum inverters ( I 2 holes).
C - MP H oods
Screw t wo Hex head bolt s halfway int o the backplat e where t he inverter hood will be m ount ed
( H holes) .
Place the invert er hood on these screws and t ight en securely. Ensure that t he bottom edge of the
hood is ush against t he t op of t he Magnum inverter.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 t o m ount any addit ional invert er hoods (H2 holes) .
