These decorative shrouds have been tested for use with speciﬁ c Hearth & Home Technologies Inc. ﬁ replaces. Check with

your local building code agency before you begin installation to ensure compliance with local codes, including the need for

permits and follow-up inspections. If you encounter any problems regarding code approvals, or if you need clariﬁ cation of

LDS33/LDS46 Installation Around Woodburning Termination Caps

The TS Series or TR Series termination caps (see Figures

1-3) are designed to be installed on an exterior chase with

a decorative chimney shroud or a purchased LDS33/LDS46

decorative shroud.

You must maintain clearances to avoid overheating the chase structure. • The TR Series cap must be raised to the minimum dimensions (or greater) above the shroud as shown in Figure 6. A. Make sure the shroud will meet or exceed the minimum requirements for the termination cap you are going to install as shown in Figures 4-6. 16 in. B. Determine if the legs will be secured to the side or the top of the chase. See Figures 7 and 8. Figures 9 and 10 illustrate how to prepare the legs for mounting the shroud to the chase top. C. Measure the chase top to determine what size shroud is needed. The shroud sides may be cut down to fit your specific size chase top. Measure the outside of the chase top then subtract that dimension from either 36 in., 48 in. or 72 in. (914 mm, 1219 mm, 1829 mm). That will give you the correct amount to cut off the shroud side. Example” The chase measures 24 in. x 32 in. (610 mm x 813 mm), allowing you to use the LDS33. Subtract 24 in. from 36 in. = 12 in. (914.4 mm - 609.6 mm = 304.8 mm), and 32 in.

• Place the shroud over the termination cap(s) allowing the legs to attach to the side or top of the chase top. See Figure 18 for a view without shroud and Figures 19 and 20 for views with the shroud installed. If using a TR Series cap and you prefer that the cap doesn’t stick out of the top of the shroud (as it does in Figure 6), use the following requirements (see Figure 17): • Wire Mesh 25 in. • • • • When using an LDS46, you must install the adjustable wind braces, one at the top and one at the bottom of the shroud. Place the top brace in the center (or as close as possible) and secure it in place by screwing it to each side. See Figure 21. Screw the brace pieces together in order to maintain/ secure the dimensions of the shroud. See Figure 22. The shroud with the top wind brace installed is shown in Figure 23. Install the second brace in the bottom of the shroud.

2 • LDS33/LDS46 Installation Around Direct Vent Gas Termination Caps The LDS33/LDS46 Decorative Shroud may also be used with the DVP-TV, DVP-TVHW or SLP-TVHW direct vent vertical termination caps (Figures 24-26).
