Cleaning the cylinder area
After prolonged use, dirt and sawdust can build up on the cylin-
der and cause the engine to overheat. The cylinder n cleaner
helps remove deposits between the cylinder ns and between
the cylinder and the mounting plate.
Remove cover.
Remove the fan housing.
CAUTION: To prevent eye injury, always wear eye protection
when cleaning the lter with compressed air!
The entire area (14) can now be brushed clean or cleaned with
compressed air.
A bottle brush can come in handy for cleaning out the cylinder
ribs.
With the cyinder ribs cleaner (accessories, not delivered with
the chain saw), clean out the area between the cylinder ribs
and between the cylinder and the mounting plate.
Do not use force. Be careful not to damage the short-circuit
wire and the ignition wire.
Replacing the fuel lter
The felt lter (15) of the fuel lter can become clogged.
It is recommended to replace the fuellter once every
three months in order to ensure unimpeded fuel ow to the
carburetor.
To remove the fuel lter for replacement, pull it out through
the tank ller neck using a piece of wire bent at one end to
form a hook.
Replacing/cleaning the spark arrester screen
Models with catalytic converter
The spark arrester screen should be checked and cleaned
regulary. Loosen the two screws (16) and remove the spark
arrester screen (17).
Caution: Do not use sharp or pointed objects for screen cleaning.
Damaged or misformed screen wires may result.
Reassembly the spark arrester screen and tighten the two
screws.
Information on the catalytic converter: The catalytic converter
reduces the pollutant content of the exhaust.
