INSTRUCTIONS (cont.):
4. USE
Apply finish with the rounded edge and flat sides using long, brush-like
strokes; always going with the grain. NOTE: Stain Pad is not for use with
alcohol based finishes.
Wrap pads and store in freezer between coats (Do Not Clean), or properly
dispose of used applicators away from other combustible materials to avoid
spontaneous combustion.
Thank you again for your purchase, and we hope you love
using MāKRS Stain Pad as much as we do.
1. Hold with one hand and
use the rounded edge for
application.
2. Load one side of the
rounded end of the pad.
3. Apply in long even strokes
across your project.
4. Use the other side to wipe
smooth or remove excess
stain.
5. DISPOSE
1. When you are done
with the first coat, you
can wrap the applicator
in a glove, plastic or
aluminum foil and place
it in the freezer to use
for additional coats.
2. If you are done with
the applicator, set it
aside, away from any
combustible materials
and allow it to fully dry
before properly
disposing of the pad.
Cleaning your pad is a critical step to ensuring a flawless finish. Complete
the steps below away from combustibles, and always use a clean, unused
pad. This process should take a couple minutes, but a flawless finish will be
worth it in the end.
3. CLEAN
1. With a dry, unused pad, away
from all combustibles, lightly
singe lose fibers along cut
edges with a lighter. Move
quickly to avoid discoloring
foam or fabric.
2. Use your fingers to
aggressively rub the edges of
the pad to ensure no fibers will
release. Repeat steps 1 & 2 as
necessary.
3. Use forced air, vacuum or
tape to clean all cut edges and
face of the pad.
The following steps should always be done
outside, away from ANY and ALL
combustibles. Do NOT attempt on a pad
that has been exposed to any finish (even
water based). Only clean, dry, unused pads
can be prepared in this way. REMEMBER
Explosive fumes can spread, never bring
ignition sources into your shop.
The singeing process is quick. The pad should
never touch the flame and should not be
exposed to heat long enough to change color.
