Remote play function
You canuse your home networkto play back withthis unit
music les stored on PC, NAS, smartphones and portable
audio players. In this case, you use PC, smartphones and
portableaudioplayersforoperations.
•TherelevantdevicesshouldcomplywiththeDLNA(Digital
LivingNetworkAlliance)Ver.1.5standard.
•A wireless LAN environment is required for playing back
musiclesonsmartphonesorportableaudioplayers.
•For some smartphones,youmust install an application for
DLNAmusicplayback.
n Roles each device plays
The following devices are used for Remote Play. As
specied in the DLNA standard, these devices are called
DMC,DMSorDMRaccordingtotheirrole.

You must install an application for DLNA music playback
on your smartphone to perform operations on DMS and
this unit (DMR) with your smartphone. The applicable
applicationdiersaccordingtoyoursmartphone.
Some smartphones support DLNA music playback with the
factorysettings.Seetheowner’smanualofyoursmartphone.

ConnectthisunittotheDLNAnetwork.Youdonotneedto
makeothersettings.

n Remote Play operations
Operationsaredierentforeachdevice,buttheprocedures
forpreparingforRemotePlayarethesame.Thepreparation
proceduresareshownbelow.

Turn on this unit.
•Makesurethatthisunitisconnectedtothenetwork.

Display the music file playback screen on DMC.
•ForPC,openWindowsMediaPlayer12,etc.
•For smartphones, switch to the music le playback
mode.

Select the friendly name of this unit for the item that
sets the playback device on the playback screen.
•The default friendly name of this unit is “Marantz
NA-11S1”.

Start playing back a music file on DMC.
•The function on this unit automatically switches to
MusicServerandtheRemotePlaymark(
)appears
onthedisplay.RemotePlaystarts.
NOTE
DuringRemotePlay,youcannotperformplaybackoperations
withthisunit.UsetheDMCdevicefortheseoperations.
