This section describes the setting for audio output depending on the AV receiver to be connected, outputting the Audio format as-is or converting to normal digital audio. HDMI output settings Most movies on Blu-ray disc are recorded at 24 frames per second, the same as movie film. If the unit is set like this, images with the same quality as movies can be enjoyed. The setting for outputting signals with 24 video frames in HDMI mode is made here. Then images with fluid motion can be enjoyed when video of 1080P24 (1080 progressive, 24-frame) is played.

Make settings for a digital audio signal depending on the specifications of the connected device. • The audio signal from the HDMI output terminal (sampling frequency, number of channels, etc.) may be limited by the HDMI audio specifications of the connected device for permissible inputs.

ENGLISH Explanation of Terms Numerics 4:3 letterbox When a wide (16:9) disc is played on the unit while connected to a 4:3 TV, this function displays the image with a black area at the top and bottom. 4:3 pan-and-scan When a wide (16 : 9) disc is played on the unit while connected to a 4:3 TV, this function cuts the left and right of the displayed image to the 4 : 3 size according to the disc’s control information.
