Dry-Type Transformers 600 Volts and Below Installation HANDLING 43006-850-01R1 11/2004 ENGLISH Keep all transformers in the upright position in which they were shipped. Use lifting cables or chains with spreader bars to avoid damage to the finish or parts. Whenever there are no external lifting provisions, remove the top cover. Secure cables or chains to the top core-clamping channels or angles where holes are provided for this purpose.
LOCATION/PLACEMENT OF VENTILATED AND NON-VENTILATED TRANSFORMERS Dry-Type Transformers 600 Volts and Below Installation Ventilated dry-type transformers normally are designed for installation in dry locations. They will, however, operate successfully while energized where the humidity is high. Under this condition, though, it may be necessary to take precautions to keep them dry if they are shut down for prolonged periods. Refer to “Operation” on page 5 for more detailed information.
Dry-Type Transformers 600 Volts and Below Installation 43006-850-01R1 11/2004 herein, the complete equipment installation might become too flexible and may overturn or shear the attachment devices and slide off its foundation. ENGLISH The structural civil engineer or design engineer of record is responsible for detailing the equipment connection and anchorage requirements (including the lateral restraint system if appropriate) for the given installation.

(wide temperature swings may cause condensation and “sweating” of metal parts). All accessories must be stored indoors in a clean, dry atmosphere. Remove any accumulations of dirt, water, ice, or snow and wipe dry before moving to indoor storage. To avoid “sweating” of metal parts, allow cold parts to reach room temperature. To dry parts and packages use a portable electric heater to get rid of any moisture buildup. Leave coverings loose to permit air circulation and to allow for periodic inspection.
Pre-Starting Checks 6 DECAL Caulking TOP DETAIL 3 5 Wheel Overlap and Gap Dimensions DETAIL 4 6 3. Once the mounting plate has been attached to the wall, the unit can be installed. The unit should be aligned with the breather tube (7) pointing down. The electrical chase should be guided through the hole in the motor compartment. The horizontal support channels (8) should slide over the mounting angle clips (10) on the mounting plate until the holes in the windband and clips are aligned.
WARNING Correct direction of wheel rotation is critical. Reversed rotation will result in poor air performance, motor overloading and possible burnout. Model CWB Pre-Starting Belt Tension Checks 8. Always loosen tension enough to install belts without stretching, see figure 9. Belts WARNING The fan has been checked for mechanical noises at the factory prior to shipment. If mechanical noise should develop, suggested corrective actions are offered in the Troubleshooting section.
Inspection: CW/CWB Inspection of the fan should be conducted at the first 30 minute and 24 hour intervals of satisfactory operation. 30 Minute Interval Inspect bolts, setscrews and motor mounting bolts. Adjust and tighten as necessary. 24 Hour Interval Check all internal components. On CWB unit only, inspect belt alignment and tension. Adjust and tighten as necessary. IMPORTANT Adjust (tighten) belt tension after the first 24-48 hours of operation.
Recommended Relubrication Frequency in Months Table 3: Grease Manufacturers NOTE: If unusual environment conditions exist (extreme temperature, moisture or contaminants) more frequent lubrication is required. A good quality lithium base grease, conforming to NLGI Grade 2 consistency, such as those listed here may be used.

No. The thermostat is just an on-off switch that is temperature sensitive. The heater is either on or off. Q. My baseboards are on outside walls, should fan heaters be also? A. No. A fan heater, recessed into an outside wall, will create extra heat loss and air leakage for that room.
