low cost means to satisfy NEC Article 210.63 requirements for HVAC/R Equipment Outlets
and Article 406.8(B)(1) for Receptacle – Wet Locations. The NEMA 3R design insures a safe,
weather tight installation for residential, light commercial and even some industrial applications.

The MARS Side Open Disconnect w/GFCI Receptacle provides a convenient low
cost means to satisfy NEC 2003 code changes requiring that a GFCI receptacle with
a "while in use" cover be within a 25ft line of sight of the condenser unit. The pre-wired
receptacle with stripped wire ends makes installation of disconnect and receptacle
quick and easy. This unit provides a significantly lower "installed cost" to the contractor
when compared to installing a standard disconnect and separate GFCI receptacle with
"while in use" cover to comply with the new NEC code change.
Additional features and benefits include: Convenient electrical power cord channel
w/retaining clip for easy and safe use of portable tools; Large wiring compartment for
both disconnect switch and receptacle; Angled receptacle mounting to eliminate the
possibility of crushing portable electrical plugs when closing "while in use” cover;
Attractive side opening cover design for ease of installation; Ultra UV powder coating.
