Introduction Setting Up Compression is perhaps one of the most useful and versatile effects available to any guitarist who is interested in improving their tone. The attack control modifies the dynamic response of the guitar signal (the effect of plucking a string) and allows you to achieve a range of effects from rounded and mellow to percussive and funky. The Compressor also features an Emphasis control which allows you to assign compression and target the frequencies you want to compress.

2. Emphasis 4. DC Input For input of a 9V DC adaptor (as previously described) should you not wish to use batteries. 5. LED Indicates when The Compressor is in operation. 6. Attack This dictates how quickly compression comes in after pick attack. With this set at minimum you will get a rounder more spongy tone. As you increase the Attack the sound will get sharper and more metallic, which is ideally suited for funky styles.

Battery Replacement 1. To replace the battery, open the easily accessed coin screw battery cover plate by loosening screw as shown, then disconnect the battery connector lead. 2.
