Warranty

LIMITED 5 YEAR WARRANTY
For Masonite AvantGuard™ Factory Finishes
This warranty applies to the factory finish.
Additional written warranties apply to the fiberglass
entry door and other door components.
If the nish is properly maintained and subject to the
exclusions stated below, Masonite warrants that for a period
of 5 YEARS from the date of original purchase by a retail
consumer or a builder, Masonite’s factory-nished AvantGuard
nish will not peel, crack, blister or fade excessively as a
result of defects in manufacturing or materials. Masonite
grants these warranties only to the original purchaser of
the door and the original resident of the building where the
door was installed. This warranty only covers the door and
does not apply to any factory nished components that may
be sold in combination with the door. THIS WARRANTY
IS NOT TRANSFERABLE AND ONLY APPLIES TO
DOORS INSTALLED IN RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT DEFECTS AND
ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY:

2. Moderate color fading resulting from exposure to
normal atmospheric conditions (sun, rain, etc.),
3. Damage caused by a third party or something other
than a defect in the manufacture or material used by
Masonite (i.e. abuse, improper use, vandalism, impact by
a foreign object, act of God, re or other casualty, damage
caused by improper handling, storage or installation by
freight carriers, distributors, installers or other parties).
THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES
WILL VOID THE WARRANTY:
1. Failure to maintain the nish in accordance with
the written maintenance instructions*;
2. Exposure to air pollutants such as acid rain and
to chemicals such as acids, salt or fumes;
3. Any failure or settling of the structure/building/
foundation into which the door is installed,
4. Installation of a non-vented storm
door over the berglass door;
5. Damages caused by attempts to
repair or re-nish the door, or
6. Other causes beyond Masonite’s control.
*MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: Proper
maintenance will not only protect your door during
the warranty period, it will also extend the life of
the finish. The door should be regularly cleaned with non-
abrasive soap and water; no chemical cleaners should be
used. The door should be routinely inspected and if the nish
appears dull or has other changes in appearance, follow
the technical instructions posted on www.Masonite.com.
Review the maintenance instructions for further details.
