LIMITED 10 YEAR WARRANTY
For Masonite Security Door Systems
the beautiful door
This warranty pertains to the doors systems ability
to absorb blunt force, reducing the risk of forced
entry. Additional written warranties apply to the
steel entry door and other door components.

If the door system is installed per Masonite’s written
instructions and properly maintained then, subject to the
exclusions stated below, Masonite warrants that for a period
of 10 YEARS from the date of original purchase by a retail
consumer or a builder, Masonite’s Security door system
has the ability to absorb blunt forces and forced entry to
the extent specied in ASTM F476, grade 40, sections 18,
19 and, 21 and AAMA 1304 (the “Standards”) and does
not cover against any other acts. The dened Standards
are those effective as of the date specied below.
Masonite grants these warranties only to the original purchaser of
the door and the original resident of the building where the door
was installed. THIS WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE
AND ONLY APPLIES TO SECURITY DOOR SYSTEMS
INSTALLED IN RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES.
The following conditions must be
met for the warranty to apply:
This door system must be properly
installed and maintained.
This door system must have all latches
engaged at the time of forced entry.
The initial forced entry must occur
through this door system
The impact used to gain entry must not exceed
those specied in the dened Standards.
A police report must be led with the above
details included in the aforementioned report.
THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES
WILL VOID THE WARRANTY:
1. Failure to maintain the door system;
2. Any failure or settling of the structure/building/
foundation into which the door system is installed;
3. Any damage to the door system other than
the damage caused by the forced entry;
4. Any unauthorized repair to the door system;
5. Any abuse, improper use, vandalism, act
of God, re, or other casualty; or,
6. Any damage caused by improper handling, storage or
installation by distributors, installers or other parties.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: Proper maintenance
will not only protect your door during the warranty
period, it will also extend the life of the product. The door
should be routinely inspected, lubricated, and the door
unit should be kept in a rust and rot free condition.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Masonite’s sole and exclusive
liability for a breach of this warranty is to cover up to $1,500 of
a claimant’s homeowner’s warranty deductible should this door
system fail to withstand forces at or below those specied in the
dened Standards and, as a result, forceful entry is permitted
through a properly installed and locked security door system. In
the event the homeowner does not have insurance, Masonite’s
liability is capped at $1,500 for any loss sustained by a claimant.
THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY,
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE AND MERCHANTABILITY. IN NO EVENT WILL
MASONITE BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. This warranty gives
you specic legal rights. Other rights vary from state to state
and may apply to you. Some states and federal laws do
not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In the event
these laws apply, then the length of any implied warranty
shall be one (1) year or the shortest time in excess of
one (1) year permitted under applicable law. Some states
do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential
damages and, if not allowed, this limitation will not apply.

Please have the following information ready: (a) description of
door system; (b) name and address of owner and installer; (c)
proof of sale; (d) insurance claim report; and (d) a valid police
report with appropriate detail.
