Open the Balboa “Spa Control” application on you device.
When you open the application it will ask to either “Connect” to the spa or go to “Demo” mode,
press “Connect”.
You will now see an informational screen providing instructions on the WiFi connection steps shown on
the first page of this installation guide. If you do not want to see this page in the future, tap the check
box next to “Don’t show this instruction again”. Press “Ok” at the bottom of the page to continue.
The screen now shown is the current status for you spa control system. By using the “Controls” or
“Settings” buttons at the top of the screen you will be able to operate the equipment on your spa or
make changes to existing settings.
When you have finished operating the spa via the WiFi connection remember to switch back to your
local WiFi network to interface with it.
Note* The WiFi system on your spa will only allow one device to connect with it at a time. If you
attempt to connect two devices to the spa at the same time there can be conflicts that will hinder
operation.
If the signal strength of the WiFi connection is weak the application icons may not react normally. This
may cause confusion as to whether the command has been executed correctly.
ADVANCED WIFI CONNECTION
In most situations the connection will be readily available. If you experience long delays connecting to
the spa using the procedure outlined in steps 1 -3 above, you may need to assign a static IP address for
the point to point network.
Download and install the “Balboa Water Group – WiFi Spa Control”
application from the Apple Store.

Step 1
Go to the Wi-Fi
Networks screen
by touching the
Settings icon
Step 2
Touch the Wi-Fi on the Settings page
Note: If Wi-Fi is not currently turned
on, touch the Wi-Fi line at the top
right of the list.
Step 3
The Spa Control network link will
appear as BWGSpa_XXXXXX in the
‘Choose a Network’ list
Note: XXXXXX are the last 6 characters
in the MAC address of the module
Step 1 On the Wi-Fi Networks page, touch the
blue right-arrow next to the BWGSpa_
XXXXXX entry to display the address
setup page
Step 2 Touch the Static button under IP Address
Step 3 Enter 169.254.1.2 for the IP Address
Step 4 Enter 255.255.0.0 for the Subnet Mask
Step 5 Enter 169.254.1.1 for the Router
Step 6 Touch the ‘Wi-Fi Networks’ button at
the top of the page to exit the screen
This address setup only has to be done once.
