OPERATION ELECTRIC BRAKE To stop the drill/driver, release the trigger switch and allow the chuck to come to a complete stop. The electric brake quickly stops the chuck from rotating. When using the drill/driver for different driving applications, increase or decrease the torque in order to help prevent damage to screw heads, threads, workpiece, etc.

OPERATION INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE BELT CLIP (FIG.11) FIG. 11 To install the bit holder: 1. Align the rib of the bit holder the hole on the base of the drill. 2. Insert the screw (included) and tighten the screw securely with a screwdriver. The bit holder can be positioned on either side of the tool. To remove the bit holder: Belt Clip 1. When drilling “through” holes, place a block of wood behind the workpiece to prevent ragged or splintered edges on the back side of the hole.
MAINTENANCE REMOVING THE CHUCK (FIG. 13) 1. Remove the battery pack from the drill/ driver. 2. Open the chuck jaws. 3. Insert a 3/8” hex key (available separately) into the chuck and securely tighten the chuck jaws onto the hex key. Tap the hex key sharply with a mallet (available separately) in a clockwise direction. This will tighten the chuck onto the spindle. 4. Open the chuck jaws and remove the hex key. 5.
TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM The drill/driver does not work. Bit cannot be installed. Motor is overheating. CAUSE SOLUTION Battery is depleted. Charge the battery. Chuck jaws are not open. Open the chuck jaws. The bit does not fit the chuck jaw. Use an appropriate bit with a shank no larger than ½ in. The cooling vents may be obstructed. Clean, clear the vents. Do not cover the vents with your hand during operation.

Lift the trimmer head and face it upward; align the groove on the bottom of the guard with the raised portion on the base of the trimmer head, and then slide the guard onto the base (Fig 3). 3. Make sure that the two mounting holes in the guard are aligned with the two assembly holes in the base of the shaft. ASSEMBLY TO ADJUST THE FRONT-ASSIST HANDLE POSITION The handle should be adjusted so that your front arm will be straight when using the trimmer. To adjust the front-assist handle position, loosen the screw knob so that the frontassist handle can be moved to the desired position of the shaft. Check the bump head, guard and frontassist handle and replace any parts that are cracked, warped, bent, or damaged in any away.
OPERATION • Slowly move the trimmer into and out of the area being cut, maintaining the cutting head position at the desired cutting height. This movement can be either a forwardbackward motion or a side-to-side motion. Cutting shorter lengths produces best results. Always keep the trimming line fully extended. Line release becomes more difficult as the cutting line becomes shorter. WARNING: Do not remove or alter the line cutting blade assembly.
OPERATION LINE REPLACEMENT NOTICE: Always use triangle-shaped twisted nylon cutting line with a diameter that does not exceed 0.08 in. (2.0 mm). Using line other than that specified may cause the string trimmer to overheat or become damaged. WARNING: Never use metalreinforced line, wire, or rope, etc. These can break off and become dangerous projectiles.

TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION Tool does not work. Low battery capacity. Charge the battery pack. String trimmer stops while cutting. The motor shaft or trimmer head is bound with grass. Stop the trimmer, remove the battery, and remove the grass from the motor shaft and trimmer head. The motor is overloaded Move the trimmer head to cut the grass no more than 8 in. of length in a single cut. Remove the trimmer head from the grass and restart the tool.
