Chapter 6, Using Matrox VS4 with StudioCoast vMix
Recording the vMix output
You can record the output from vMix to Matrox MPEG-2 I-frame .avi files, such
as to record video effects that you’ve applied to your Matrox VS4 video input.
1 Select the VS4 inputs that you want to record as explained in “Selecting VS4
inputs in vMix” on page 81.
2 Click the Record Setup button on the Input Bar at the bottom of
the main window.
3 In the Recording Setup dialog box, select AVI on the left.
4 In the Filename box, specify the location and name for the output file.
5 From the Size list, select the frame size for the output file as follows:
$ For MPEG-2 I-frame SD file:
720 × 480 to record to NTSC or 480p format.
720 × 576 to record to PAL or 576p format.
$ For MPEG-2 I-frame HD file:
1280×720 to record to 720p format.
1920×1080 to record to full-size 1080i/p format.
6 From the Frame Rate list, select the frame rate that is appropriate for the
video format to which you are recording. For example, if you are recording
to PAL, set the frame rate to 25 fps.
