FlexKey Option 
If you have the FlexKey Option installed and enabled in your SFX----F series receiver, then this Appendix applies.  
FlexKey is an IDC Proprietary encoding AES encryption scheme using a 128 bit key. This appendix describes the 
operation of the FlexKey feature and the procedure for setting up the feature using the Web GUI. 
Web GUI Operation 
If your receiver has the FlexKey Option enabled, then additional menu items and display pages will be provided.  
These are accessed via the Utilities Menu, in a submenu item called FlexKey.  Selecting this submenu displays the 
FlexKey Configuration Page, as shown in the example in Figure. The receiver is authorized and shipped from the 
factory with a 128bit key length. Based on this key length, the authorized decryption algorithms are automatically 
provided. 
Aside from the Common Menu Items, the following menu items are available: 
Menu Item  Description 
Show    Selecting this button will always return you back to the FlexKey Configuration page, as shown in 
Figure E- 1. The current configuration as entered under the configuration edit page is always 
displayed here. 
Edit  Selecting this button will enter the FlexKey Configuration Edit page, as shown in Figure E- 2. 
The edit fields on this page are explained below the page. 
The display fields in the FlexKey option have the following meaning: 
Column/Field Description 
ECM Multicast 
Address 
This is the multicast IP address, in dotted decimal notation, which contains the decryption 
key. This address and the UDP Port numbers must match the configuration of the FlexKey 
head end. 
ECM UDP Port  Matching port address for the decryption key. 
Security Device 
Status 
This shows the presence of a hardware security device in the receiver. 
Security Device Serial 
# 
Designated from the Head end and including the receivers MAC address, this is the key to the 
Security Device.
