WORKFLOW 133
To choose which objects are displayed in the Timeline, drag and drop the
objects from the Object manager into the Timeline.
Drag and drop functionality is extensive. For example, you can drag-and-drop
to reference objects. If you’re not sure if a particular drag and drop feature is
supported, try it.
Asynchronous access to parameters
Almost all parameters for objects, tags, structure tools, materials and shaders can be accessed and
edited interactively using the Attribute manager (see Chapter 21, ‘Attribute Manager’).
The parameters of objects can be adjusted interactively with the mouse, i.e. with visual feedback in
the viewport. Drag an arrowhead up or down to adjust its parameter. You’ll see the change take place
in the viewport in realtime.
Selection rays
You can select objects in the viewport with the help of a selection ray. A ray is sent into the scene from
the point where you click to register all objects that are under the mouse pointer. With the help of the
selection ray you are able to choose which one of these objects you want to select.
To select an object using the selection ray, do one of the following:
In the viewport, position the mouse pointer over the object you want to select.
Double right-click or Shift-right-click (Windows) or Shift-Command-click (Mac
OS) to open a selection window containing all objects hit by the selection ray.
Choose the object that you want to select.
