758 CHAPTER 17
OBJECT MANAGER 759
Transparency from the “Alpha” material channel.
If this option is deactivated, an object with this Compositing tag setting will not be visible when
behind transparent objects.
Seen by Refraction
Choose from transparency and refraction. Refraction takes place when Refraction” in a material
channel’s “Transparency” channel menu is not equal to “1. Otherwise, “Seen by Transparency” will
apply.
Seen by Reection
Last but not least, an option for reection: If this option is deactivated, the object with this
Compositing tag setting will no longer be visible in reective objects.
Seen by AO
Here you can dene whether or not an object should be included in Ambient Occlusion (only for
owners of Advanced Render). If this option has been deactivated, the corresponding object will be
completely invisible for AO. That means:
The object itself will not be “darkened” by other objects.
The object won’t “darken” other objects.
You create a oor with a white material (with the RGB values matching the
white color of the web page), but when you render the picture, the oor is
not the correct brightness. To remedy, add a Compositing tag to the Floor and
enable Background Compositing. The oor will now illuminate itself evenly at
full brightness while still receiving the car’s shadow.
Force Antialiasing, Min, Max, Threshold
The Threshold value you enter here is used only if it is lower (i.e. more accurate)
than the Threshold value in the render settings. Otherwise the value in the
render settings is used. This ensures the object always uses the most accurate
Threshold. Likewise, the best Min and Max values are used.
The settings will only have an effect if Use Object Properties is enabled in the
render settings (Antialiasing page).
Antialiasing is dened globally in the render settings (Antialiasing page). To override the global
settings for the tags object, enable Force Antialiasing and set Min, Max and Threshold to the desired
values.
