ENGLISH 4 NOTES TO THE USER Care of equipment Keep the exterior of the radio clean using a soft damp cloth. Keep battery contacts clean and free of corrosion. Do not store batteries in a discharged state. Do not use solvents or spirits for cleaning as they may damage the radio housing. Do not carry the radio by the antenna. Warnings The use of an attachment not recommended or supplied by Maxon may cause damage to equipment or injury to personnel.
Unpacking and inspection Unpack the radio and check that you have received the following items: SL55 handportable radio Battery pack Antenna Belt clip Wall charger If any items are missing, please contact your dealer. FITTING INSTRUCTIONS Fitting and removing the antenna A high quality matched antenna is supplied with the SL55 radio. Install the antenna by threading clockwise until it is firmly seated. Do not over tighten. To remove the antenna, reverse the above procedure.

When your battery reaches low capacity, you should recharge the battery or replace with a charged battery as soon as possible. In this condition, use of the transmitter should be avoided as this quickly drains the battery. The rechargeable battery packs may be recharged separately or while still attached to the radio. To use the trickle charger supplied with the radio, turn off the radio and insert the charging adapter into the lower socket of the accessories connector .
ENGLISH 10 SL55 SERIES OPERATION Note: The availability of the functions described in this section is dependent on the set-up of your radio. Please consult your Dealer or Supervisor for further information. SWITCHING THE RADIO ON Switch the radio on by turning the volume control  clockwise until its clicks. An audible alert sounds on completion of the automatic self-test. TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE The PTT (Press-To-Talk) button Šis located on the side of the SL55 and activates the transmitter.
When your radio receives a signal above a preset minimum level, the LED will illuminate yellow to tell you that there is activity on the channel you are switched to. Your radio may be set up so that you hear who is talking straight away or it may be set up to prevent this until the correct CTCSS/DCS code is received. TX LOCK-OUT The SL55 may be set-up to disable the transmitter when the channel is busy. If the PTT button is pressed, an audible alert will sound and the status LED will flash yellow.
ENGLISH 12 OPTIONS A number of plug-in Option boards are available for the SL55, which enhance the features of the radio. Please refer to your dealer for details of any options fitted to your radio (Note: only one option can be fitted at any time). CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE FRANÇAIS 20 Lorsque l'état de charge de la batterie de votre poste devient insuffisant, vous devez recharger la batterie ou la remplacer par une batterie chargée le plus tôt possible. Dans l'intervalle, évitez d'utiliser l'émetteur sinon la batterie sera vite à plat. Les batteries peuvent être rechargées séparées du boîtier ou sur le poste.
UTILISATION DU POSTE SL55 Nota: La disponibilité des fonctions décrites dans cette section dépend de la configuration de votre poste radio. Veuillez consulter votre revendeur ou votre responsable pour plus de détails. Pour allumer le poste, tournez le bouton de réglage de volume  dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'au déclic. Un autotest automatique est alors effectué. A l'issue de l'autotest, un bip est émis. EMISSION ET RECEPTION Le bouton d'alternat Å est situé sur le côté du SL55.
CANAL OCCUPE FRANÇAIS 22 Quand votre poste reçoit un signal d'amplitude supérieure à un niveau minimum préprogrammé, le voyant s'allume en jaune pour vous indiquer que le canal sur lequel vous êtes est occupé. Votre poste peut être programmé pour que vous entendiez qui parle ou pour vous empêcher de le faire jusqu'à la réception du code CTCSS/DCS correct. INTERDICTION D'EMISSION Le SL55 peut être programmé pour que l'émetteur soit désactivé quand le canal est occupé.
OPTIONS MODULE DAPPEL SELECTIF SOP55-01 MONO DIRECTION (OPTION 03) Si votre radio a été dotée d un module SOP55-01, des options de signalisations 5 tons sont disponibles. Ces dispositifs peuvent réduire les temps dattente consécutifs aux appels radio et contribuent à une meilleure utilisation du canal . Loption dappel sélectif installée, lutilisation du poste sera quelque peu modifiée et lefficacité renforcée.

NOTAS PARA EL USUARIO Cuidados del equipo Mantenga el exterior del equipo limpio utilizando un paño húmedo y suave. Mantenga los contactos de la batería limpios y sin corrosión. No almacene baterías descargadas. No utilice disolventes para la limpieza del equipo ya que 27 puede dañar el chasis del equipo. Ä Pinza de cinturón PANEL LATERAL Å Pulsador PTT(Pulse para hablar): al pulsarlo, activa el transmisor para hablar. Manténgalo pulsado mientras hable.
È Micrófono É Altavoz Conector de accesorios/conector de carga: levante el capuchón de plástico y conecte un accesorio de Maxon. Inserte el cargador en el orificio inferior del conector.
CARGA DE LA BATERIA 32 Cuando la batería esté baja de carga deberá cargarla o sustituirla por otra batería totalmente cargada. Evite transmitir con una batería con baja carga dado que esto consume mucha carga. Las baterías se pueden cargar unidas o separadas del SL55. Si utiliza el cargador lento que se suministra con el equipo, apague el SL55 e introduzca el cargador en el orificio inferior del conector de accesorios . La batería se cargará en 1012 horas.
FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL SL55 Nota: LA disponibilidad de las funciones que detallamos a continuación dependen de la programación que se haya realizado en el equipo. Consulte a su distribuidor Maxon para más información. ENCENDIDO DEL EQUIPO 33 Gire el control de volumen  hasta que oiga un clic. Se escuchará una melodía cuando finalice el auto-chequeo del equipo. El PTT Å está situado en el lateral del equipo y cuando se pulsa activa el transmisor.
CANAL OCUPADO 34 Cuando el equipo recibe una señal suficientemente fuerte el LED de estado se ilumina en amarillo para indicar que existe actividad en el canal en el que se encuentra. Su equipo se puede programar para que usted Vd. escuche siempre a quien está hablando o para que sólo escuche los mensajes que tienen el código CTCSS (subtono) correcto. BLOQUEO DE TRANSMISION El SL55 se puede programar para que no se pueda transmitir si el canal está ocupado.
OPCIONES El SL55 dispone de una serie de opciones que pueden ser instaladas dentro del equipo y que aumentan las prestaciones del mismo. MÓDULO DE LLAMADA SELECTIVA El módulo de llamada selectiva le permite dirigir las llamadas específicamente a un(os) usuario(s) concretos de forma que en lugar de que todas las conversaciones sean escuchadas por todos los usuarios, cada llamada es enviada al usuario(s) al que realmente desea contactar. 35 El SL55 permite la instalación de módulos de secrafonía.

BENUTZERHINWEISE Gerätepflege Reinigen Sie das Äußere des Gerätes, wenn nötig, mit einem weichen, feuchten Tuch. Halten Sie die Batteriekontakte frei von Schmutz und Korrosionsprodukten. Lagern Sie keine leeren Batterien im Gerät. Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung des Gerätes keine 39 lösungsmittelhaltigen Reiniger oder Produkte auf Petroleumbasis, da sie das Gehäuse angreifen könnten.

AUFLADEN DER BATTERIE 44 Wenn der Akku schwach wird, sollten Sie ihn so bald wie möglich aufladen oder durch einen vollen ersetzen. In diesem Zustand sollten Sie nicht senden, da dies den Akku stark beansprucht. Das Aufladen des Batteriesets kann einzeln erfolgen oder im montierten Zustand. Um das mitgelieferte Pufferladegerät zu verwenden, müssen Sie das Gerät ausschalten und den Ladeadapter in die untere Öffnung des Zubehöranschlusses stecken. Die Ladezeit beträgt 10 bis 12 Stunden.

Ihr Gerät kann entweder so eingestellt werden, daß Sie sofort hören können, wer spricht, oder aber, daß dies nur geschieht, wenn ein korrektes CTCSS/DCS Signal empfangen wird. SENDESPERRE Das SL55 bietet die Möglichkeit, den Sender zu deaktivieren, wenn der eingestellte Kanal besetzt ist.

BATTERIJ LADEN 56 Zodra de batterij bijna leeg is dient hij opgeladen te worden, of gewisseld met een volle. Als de batterij bijna leeg is dient het zenden zoveel mogelijk beperkt te worden aangezien dit de batterij zwaar belast. De oplaadbare batterijen kunnen apart of aan de portofoon vast zittend opgeladen worden. Als u de druppel lader wilt gebruiken dient u de portofoon uit te zetten en de druppellader in het onderste gat van de accessoire aansluiting te steken.
GEBRUIK VAN DE SL55 Opmerking: De beschikbaarheid van de functies, zoals hieronder beschreven, is afhankelijk van de programmering van de portofoon. Voor meer informatie kunt u contact opnemen met uw dealer. DE PORTOFOON AANZETTEN 57 Zet de portofoon aan door de volume knop  naar rechts te draaien tot voorbij de klik. Een serie toontjes geeft de completering van de zelftest aan. ZENDEN EN ONTVANGEN De bediensleutel (PTT) Šzit aan de zijkant van de SL55 en activeert de zender.

De portofoon kan zo ingesteld zijn dat het bericht altijd te verstaan is, of alleen als de juiste CTCSS / DCS code meegezonden wordt. 58 ZENDBEVEILIGING De SL55 kan zodanig ingesteld worden, dat alleen gezonden kan worden als het kanaal vrij is. Als het kanaal bezet is klinkt een waarschuwingstoon en knippert de LED geel.
OPTIES Een aantal plug-in optie borden zijn beschikbaar voor de SL55, die de kenmerken van de portofoon nog beter doen uitkomen. Neem contact op met uw dealer voor gedetailleerde informatie over opties die van toepassing zijn op uw portofoon. (NB: er kan slechts een optie worden toegevoegd) 59 SOP55-01 VASTE SELECT-5 MODULE (Optie 03) Indien uw portofoon is uitgerust met de SOP55-01 Select-5 Module zijn er een aantal additionele signaleringsopties beschikbaar.
