Logs
A log file is a file that stores messages (event logs)

system. These messages are used to track the
operations performed. Log files are usually plain text
(ASCII) files and often have a .log extension.

Application Log
The application log contains events logged by
applications or programs. For example, a database
program might record a file error in the application
log. The program developer decides which events to
record.
