(b) Via the remote control software:
• Click on CONNECT or press the “C” key (enter phone number direct) or click on PHONE
BOOK or press the “P” key (select subscriber from the phone book). One of the
following dialog windows opens, depending on the selected data interface:

• Select the desired parameter in the dialog window.
• Click on OK.
The device then starts to set up the connection to the desired communication partner.
You can follow this process on the MERK II’s display in the CONNECTION SETUP or in
the window of the remote control software:

After the connection has been set up successfully, the device switches to the mask that
was displayed beforehand. If you want to monitor the existing connection, select STATUS
(see the following section “Execute and Monitor Transmission”).
