If you are not yet familiar with fil e types and want to see them, you can
openM yComputerorWindowsExplorer,choosetheOptionscommand
from the Vie w me nu, and click the File Types tab .
In the O ptions dialog box you can examine the listof the registered file
typesonyoursystem.T hesearethefiletypesthatwillbeavailabletoyou
in Safe & Sound. You can add n ew register ed file types in the Options
dialogbox tomakethemavailableto Safe& Soundthenexttimeyourun
it.
NOTE: You can also view file types directly in M y Computer or
Windows Explorer. Choose the Options comman d from the View
menu, click the View tab, a nd mak e s ure the H
IDE MS-DOS FILE
EXTENSIONS FOR FILE TYPES THAT ARE REGISTERED check box is
de selected. Reg istered file ty pes are also listed in the File Types tab
intheO ptionsdialogbox.Theotherplacewherefiletypesappear is
in the Save As dialog box of Windows applications.
6. Click A pply to apply changes. Then click OK when you are d one.
Ifyouwanttomakeabackupsetmanually,deselecttheEnable
Automatic Backup check box.
If you’ve selected the 3.5-inch drive or a r emovable media drive that
provides less space than needed for the bac kup set, fo llow the
instructions on the screen and switch disks or tapes when instructed.
7. Click Next >, en ter a bac kup v olume name and click Next > again.
8. Click OK.
Restoring files from a backup set
If you encounter a problem with the information on your drive,y ou can
restore one or more of the files in your Safe & Sound backup sets.
