Run/Add/Remove tab
The Run/Add/Rem ove tab lets youad d, remove, edit,and specify properties
for programs that automaticallyrun when you start Windows, and for
programs that appear on t he Start > Program m enu .
The Run/Add /R em ove options are:
• Programs Run Automatically at Windows Startup–Click Ad d to add a
newprogram torun automatically at Windowsstartup.T henext timey ou
start Windows, the program starts automatically. These programs will be
addedto your StartUp folder.

TIP: Hold down the Shift key immediately after the Windows S tarting
screen appears (or after logging in) and W indows w ill skip loading the
files in your St artUp folder.
SelectaprogramandclickRemove toremoveitfromtheWindowsStartup
folder. The next time you start Windows, the program n o longer starts
automatically.
Select a program and click Edit to edit the program’s file name or path.
Select a program and click Properties to view its Properties sheet. The
Properties sheet show s wh ere the program is beginning from: Registry or
StartUp.
• Add/Remove Pro gram Menu–When you load programs into Windows
95/98, they can register their instal l program with the A dd/Remove
Programs control panel. T his section shows you which programs are
registered this way. When yo u run Control Panel and o pen the
Add/Remove Programs control panel, you see the same list.

example, the Microsoft Office Add/Remove option would allow you to
remove Officecomponents,or add ones that youoriginally did notinstall.
Th is EZ Setup screen lets you view or modify all registered
install/uninstall ut ilities.
