To shred files using drag and drop:
1. Select files in My Computer or Wi ndows Explorer and drag them onto
the McAfee Shredder icon on the desktop.
If you have selected th e McAfee Shredder properties option to Prompt
Before Shredding, a message appears listing t he first fil e you d ragged
onto the M cAfee Shredder icon. It asks you to confirm that you want to
shred this file.
2. Do one of the fo llowing:
• Click O K to shred the listed file. Repeat this step for each fil e.
• Click OK to All if yo u’re positive you wan t to shred all the files you
dragged onto the McAfee Shredder icon.
• C lickSkiptonotshredthel istedfileandcontinueselecting whether
toshredanyotherfilesyoudraggedontotheMcAfeeShreddericon.
• Click Cancel to return to the de sktop without shredding the listed
file or any o thers you dragged o nto the M cAfee Shredder icon.
To shred files in the McAfee Shredder:
1. Select the Select a File to E rase radio buttonan d click Next >.
2. Do one of the fo llowing:
• E nterapathforoneormorefilestoerase,separatingeachpathwith
a space character.
• C lick the Browse button to locate one or more files to select.
Select one or more files and click Open.

TIP:Tos elect multiple adjacent files, hold down the SHIFT key
while clicking filenames. To selec t multiple non-adjacent fil es,
hold downCTRL while clic king.
3. Click the F inish button.
If the Prompt Before Erasing check box is deselected in the McAfee
Shredder Propertiesd ialogbox, Mc Afee Shreddererasesthe files,closes,
and r eturns to the desktop.
If the Prompt B efore Erasing check box is selected , a confirmation
mess age appears. G o to S t ep 4.
