The McAfee Zip Manager is a complete zip management utility that you can
use in two w ays: via ZipMan Wizard or the advanced McAfee Zip Manager.
ZipMa n Wizard p ro vides you with all the zip file man agement features you
will n or mally use. It takes you, step by step , through the process of zip f ile
creation and extraction.

with manipulating files, t o those w ho want t o wo rk independently of a
Wizard, or to those who want to take advantage of McAfee Zip M anager’s

McAfee Zip Manager can become an integral part of your Windows file
ma nagementoperations . You can drag file s from any location directlyinto the
McAfee Zip Managericon, and you c an Right-click a file, and choose McAfee
Zip Manager from Windows 95/98’s Send To menu to send that file directly
to McAfee Zip Manager.
Zip Files
There are three good reasons why you would want to create zip files. First,
zipping files (especially those that you don’t use often) is an effective way of
recla iming hard di sk spac e. Second, zipp ing is a good way to create, manage
and store collections of r elated files as archival back -ups. Third , you c an
efficien tly share zipped files with ot her people. Most of the larger files you
download from the Internet are zipped, so you can download t hem quickly.
McAfee Zip M anager also lets y ou create self-extracting zip file s, which are
esp ecially helpful if you share zip files with ot her people who may not have
McAfe e Utilities ’ McAfee Zip M anager or anothe r pr ogram to unzip the files.
A self-extracting zip file contains the decompression portion of the Mc Afee
Zip Manager an d enables the zip file to extract itself on another computer.
Using ZipMan Wizard
ZipMan Wizard p rovides an easy way to use a W izard-style interface to
perform themostcommontasks.Youcandragfilesfromanylocationintothe
ZipMan icononyour desktop,justlike youdragfilesthatyoun ol ongerwant
into t he Windows Recycle Bin. A fter you drag zipped o r unzipped files into
theZipMa nWizardic on,ZipManWizardau tomaticallyop enswiththosefiles
readyforyoutoziporunzipthem.YoucanusetheZipManWizardtoperform
four separate zip file m anagement tasks:
• Extract Files from archive–lets you unzip files (either from your zip
archives or from another source) and save them to your specified
directories.
