Compression options
• Save Folder Inform atio n–saves the folder name with the files you select.
Whenyouunzipthesefiles,McAfeeZ ipManagercheckswhetherthesame
folder names exist as subfolders at the location where you want to place
these extracted files. If the subfolders d o not exist, McAfee Zip M anager
creates them.
• Save Current Folde r–allows you to group all files using their current
folde r, so that the folder informat ion is saved fo r files added without a
folder.
• Re curse Fol ders– allows you to save the file s that may exist in any
subfolders of the folder where you are currently working. If, for example,
you drag a folder called My Documents into ZipMan, a nd if this f older
contains filesa nd two subfolders(e.g. one named Word and anothercalled
Excel),settingtheRecurseFoldersoptionletsyousavethecontentsofthe
Word and Excel fo lders as well. Used on it s own, t he Recurse Folders
optionw illn ot savethe s ub-fo lders’paths.W hen youex t ractthe files,they
are all put into the folder you select when you extract them.
You can select any combination of Save Folder Information, Save Current
Folder,andRecurseFolderstocustomizethecompressionofyou rfiles.Ifnone
of these check boxes areselected,any files you zip,regardless ofwhich folder
they originate from,will be saved without any folder information. When you
unzip these files, they appear in the folder where you unzip them.
Source of files to compress

accelerate the process of locating the folders where your files are l ocated,
esp ecially if yo u normally store the file s y ou want to co mpres s in a specific
folder.
• Current F older–autom atically b rings up the curr e nt f older.
• Archive Folder–lets yo u defaultto your specified archive folder—useful if
you always keep your ‘files-to-be-zi pped’ in a special folder.
• Last Fold er –automatically opens the last folder where you were
working—useful if you have created or saved files in one of your folders
and now want to zip them.
