McAfee Utilities
Setting overwrite, destination, and other options
TheUnzipOptionslety ou customize the overwrite andextraction features of
your zip file management tasks. You can specify whether t he extracted files
sho uldov erwrite existing files with thesamena me loc atedin thef olderwhere
youareplacingtheextractedfiles,orwhetheryouwanttobenotifiedthatfiles
with the same name already exist. You can also establish your default
extraction folder as your current folder, the last folder where you were
working,or a special, dedicated ‘extraction’ folder.
Extracting, archiving, or adding files
You ca n easily ex tract files , create archive files (zip files), and add files to an
existingar chive(zipthefilesand addthemtoa groupofexistingzippedfiles).
To do t his, simply select t he applicable radio but ton in the ZipMan Wizard
window and follow the step-by-step on-screen instructions. In each case,
ZipMan Wizardwalks y ou through the entire process, helping you identify
andselectthefilesyouwantandthelocationswhereyouwanttoputthefinal
compressed or extracted files.
Building self-extracting archives
You can use Z ipMan Wizard to build self-extracting archives—zipped files
that can be unzipped w it hout the use of an unzip utility. In ZipMan Wiz a rd
this is a two-stage process. First you need to identify the zipped files that yo u
want to convert into self-extracting archives, then you create a self-extracting
file. You can rename the file to ensure that you keep the ori ginal zipped files
on your system.
Switching between the Wizard and McAfee Zip Manager
Click the Advanc ed button in any ZipMan Wizard windo w to automatically
go to the advanced M cAfee Zip M anager.
Click the ZipMan W izardtool button in the McAfee Zip Manager window to
instan tly go to ZipMan Wizard.
Using Advanced McAfee Zip Manager
