Activity Logs
On the Pro duct Name Home screen, Activity Log s allow you to view a list of
all the interactions that you and other p rofiled users of yo ur computer ha d
with Product Name, including the date and time of the action. You can print,
save or clear this list.
Security Check
You can run a complete check of your computer for any privacy or security
problems via this feature. After Internet Guard Dog performs the check, it
displays any problem found, provides additional information about the
problem, and guides you through on how to solve the problem.
Internet Guard Dog and your online connection
To use allInternetGuardD og features, youmusthave anInternetconnection
through a local network or a modem . So m e networks have an Internet
connectionthat you can use by connecting to the n etwork-either directly or
through dial-up networking. If you don’t connect through a network, your
comp uter must ha ve a mo de m in stalled.
You ca n establish an Internetconnection through an Internet Serv ice Provider
(ISP) such as Earth link. An ISP acts as a mid dleman b e tw e e n you and the
Internet.Yourcomputerc onnects(usingyourmodem)totheISP’sequipment,
which in turn connects to the Internet. You may also be connec ted to th e
Internet through an online service such as America Online or Compuserve.
In addition, you must also have a browser. A b rowser is software, such as
Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer (it must be a version
designedforWindows95orWindows98),thatallowsyoutoviewtextand
graphics and download files from Web sites.
