Informationaboutotherusers ofyourcomputer.IfyouaretheAdministrator,
youcancreateuserprofilesandsetprotectionsettingsthatInternetGuardwill
use whe ne ver the user is browsing the Inte rnet via your computer.
Foroptimalprotection byIdentityProtector,includealldashes(suchas Social
Security num b er, bank account numbers, brokerage acco unts, and ATM
cards). For example, if you enter 123-45-6789 as your social security number,
GuardDogwillrecognizethenumberwith orwithoutthedashes.Ifyouenter
123456789, G uard Dog won’t alert y ou if the number is sent out with da shes
(123-45-6789). Credit cards do not need dashesbec ause you type thenumber s
into separate boxes.
How Internet Guard Dog Administrator works
SinceInternetGuardDo g nowoffe rsmulti-userlog oncapabilities,t hisfe a ture
allows oneuser to ac t as the ad ministr ator ofpersonalinfor ma tion, prot ection
and security settings entered via the Internet Guard Dog features. T his is
particularly useful if for examp le, you w ould want t o f ilter, block or mo nitor
certaintypesofinformationthatyoudonotwantyourchildrentoaccesswhen
browsing the Internet.
Creating an Internet Guard Dog Administrator account can only be done in
the Interview feature of Internet Guard Dog. And only the design ated
Administra tor can a ccess and change information and protection setti ngs of
the computer.
Afterthissetupiscomplete,theAdministratorcanadd otherusers and setthe
leve ls of securit y and protection for ea ch user p ro f ile.
NOTE: In adding user pr ofiles, the Administr ator can de signate a
user as a S elf-Administrator.
