Performing a Security Check
After completing the interview, you’ll want to find out how yo ur PC may be
at risk. Security Check examines your PC for privacy and security problems
and then guides you through fixing any problem it finds. If you are using the
settings suggested by Product Name in the interview, you onlyn eed to run
Security Check right after installation an d then every month or so. If you
reducethelevelofprotection,youshouldrunSecurityCheckmorefrequently.
You can also change the Security Check settings to customize how you want
this feature to w ork on your computer.
To perform a Security Check
1. Click Security Check on the Product Name Home screen. After security
check is c o mplete, Product N ame displays a r epo rt describing any
problems it discovered.
2. To view a problem that P roduct N ame has identified, highlight the item
and click Fix.
3. ReadtheProductNamerecommendationandthen clicktheappropriate
button. Ifyouwant more information, c lick Help, then click Helpfo r thi s
screen.
Acheckmarkappearsnexttoeachproblemthatyoufix.
4. Repeat s teps 2 and 3 for each problem that you want to fix.
5. When you have finished, click the Back or the H ome button to return to
the Internet Guard Dog Home screen.
Responding to Product Name alert messages
ProductNameworksasyou worktoprotectyourprivacyandsecurity.When
Product N am e detects a po tential problem, it either handles the problem
automatically or warns you with an alert message based on your Product
Name settings.
Each aler t message tells you what potential problem triggered the m essage
and Product Name’s recommendation on how to respond. If you want more
information about the p ro b le m, click the Q u e stion Mark bu tton and then click
anyw here ins ide the alert me ssage.
