• Your browser is directed to a harmful site—one that has been known to
contain virus-infected files (e.g., Trojan horses, prank or destructive
ActiveX controls, or other security concerns).
• A program silently uses your modem to connect to another computer.
• A program starts up another program.

Internet Guard D og can display five different Gat ekeeper-related alert
messages.Ify ouareusingthedefaultsettingssuggestedbytheInterview,you
will see the messages related to Internet access, harmful sites, programs
starting anotherprogram, and programs sending out credit card-like
numbers.
You can respond to the Internet access alert m essage i n the following ways:
What File Guardian does
File Guardian can pro tect files t hat conta in your sens itive data from b e ing
opened, r enamed, copied, m oved , o r del eted. For a dded protection, you can
even encrypt files protected by File Guardian. Pr oduct Name can also alert
you if a program atte mpts one of the follo wing potentially harm ful a ctivities:
• A program attempts to reformat your hard drive.
If you choose Internet Guard Dog
This time only Allows the program to access the Internet this time
only and warns you the next time it tries to access the
Internet.
Allow always Allows the program to a ccess the I n ternet at any time.
In Pr otection Settings for Gatekeeper, the program is
addedto thelistof programsallowedto automatically
access the Internet. If you decide later that you do not
want this program to use your Internet connection,
select its n ame and click Remove.
Not this time Prevents the program from accessing the Internet.
This ch oice stays in effect until the next time you
restart W indows or for Internet Explorer 4 users, until
you close your b rowser. Use this option if you want
Internet Guard Dog to warn you the next time the
program tries to access the Internet.
