The Syste m Scan mod ule will also scan files stor ed on flo p py disks
when ever you read from or writet o t hem , or w hen you shut down yo ur
computer.
I f it finds a vi rus, the m odule will sound an ale rt a nd pr om pt you for a
response. The module will also record its actions and summarize its
current settings in a log file that you can review later.
4. To enable these functio ns, click Yes, then c lick Next>. Otherwise, click
No, then click Next> to continue.

5. Select the Enable e-mail scanning checkbox, then s elect t he checkbox
that c orresponds to the type o f e-mail c lient you use. Your choices are:
Internet e-mail clients. S elect this checkboxif you us e aPost Office
Protocol (POP-3) or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) e-mail
client that sends and receive s standard Inter n et mail directly or
thr ough a dial-up connection. If you send and receive e-mail from
home and use Netscape Mail, America Online, or such popular
clients as Q ualcomm’s Eudora or Microsoft’s OutlookE xpress, be
sure to select this option.
Enable Corporate Mail. Select this checkbox if you use a
proprietary e-mail system at work or in a n etworked environment.
Most such systems use a central network server to receive and
distribute mail that individua l us e rs send to each other from client
applications. Suchsystems might send and receive mail from
outside the network or from the Internet, but they usually do so
through a “gateway application run from the server.
