Launch Rocket
Th e time it takes to launch applicat ions in Windows can vary fro m a few
secondst oafewminutes,dependingo nthesizeofthea pplicatio n,thenumber
of componentfilesthat make u p theapplication, and the lo ca tion of these files
on your hard drive.
McAfe e Utilities Launch R ocket Wizard d ramatically reduces application
launch t imes. It does this in t wo ways:
Normal Acceleration–McAfee Utilities keeps track of the o rd e r in w hich
variousparts of an application load. Thereafter,w hen everyoul auncht hat
application, McAfee U tilities directs you r system to r ead those files from
the har d disk in t he most efficient manner.
SuperAccelerationMcAfeeUtilitiesmonitorshowanapplicationloadsin
your system.It copiesan dcompr essesthestart-uppartso f thatappli cation
in the correct order in a single file on the hard disk. Thereafter, when you
launch that applicatio n, the system reads a single fi le , r ather tha n multiple
files a cross the hard drive.
Th e Launch Rocket Wizard lets you enable the utility and configure its
settings. With the Wizard, you can:
Selectwhich applicationsbenefitfrom Normal Acceleration,w hichbenefit
from Su per Accele ration, a nd w hich are exc luded from launch
acceleration. The Wizard displays a list of all appli cations you have run
since installing McAfee Utilities. You can r ight-click a listed app lica tion to
specify its de gree of launch acce leration.
Specify the drive where the acceleration files are stored. Estimated disk
space for these files is also shown.
Quick Copy
Quick Copy allows you to copy f iles and folders from one loca tion to another
fasterthan theu singWindowsExplorer’s standardcopy methods.Follow the
wizard to complete the task you want to perform.
The fastest and most convenient way to use Quick Copy is to select the files
you want to copy and drag into the Quick Copy icon. This automatically
launches the QuickC opy wizard box with the paths to the files and folders
already indicated in the Items to Copy List.
