When you see this dialog box, the application has caused an error w hich
usually m e a ns it has gone astray. Therefore your data may alread y be lost or
damaged.T hisdialogboxletsyouchoosewhattodowiththefaultyprogram.
The following options are available:
• Close Application- closestheapplication that caus edtheerror and allo ws
you to continue working.
• Au toFix - reactivatesthe faultyprogramat a pointthatshouldletyousave
your data.This procedure h as some inherent risks and y ou should follow
the steps i n the procedure below when trying to AutoFix a crashed
program.
Recovering a crashed, locked-up, or hung application
Sometimes application errors cause programs to stop respon ding to the
keyboardormouse.InWindows95/98,ComputerProgramReactivator(CPR)
can "unlock"programsandallowyou totrytorecoveranypreviously unsaved
information in doc uments you had open in the application when it stopped
responding.
To unlo ck a locked program:
1. Hold down t he CTRL and ALT Keys and simultaneou sly press the
DELETE key (sometimes labeled DEL).
CPR displays the Close Program dialogbox.
