Using VirusScan Command-line Options
/ALL On-demand
scanning only
Overrides the default scan setting by scanning all
infectable filesregardless of extension.
Using the /ALL option substantially increases the
scanning time required. Use it only if you find a
virus or suspect that you have one.
/ANALYZE On-demand
scanning only
Extended
memory
required.
Sets scanner to use its full heuristics, both
program and macro.
/MANALYZE targets macro viruses only.
/PANALYZE targets program viruses only.
/ANYACCESS On-access
scanning only
Scans:
the boot sector whenever a disk is either read or
written to
executables
any newly created files
/APPEND On-demand
scanning only
Used with /REPORT to append report message
text to the specified report file instead of
overwriting it.
/BOOT On-demand
scanning only
Scan boot sector and master boot record only.
/BOOTACCESS On-access
scanning only
Scans a disks boot sector for viruses whenever
the disk is accessed (including read/write
operations).
/CLEAN On-demand
scanning only
Clean viruses from all infected files and system
areas.
/CLEANDOCALL On-demand
scanning only
As a precautionary measure against macro
viruses, /CLEANDOCALL cleans all macros from
Microsoft Word and Office documents.
This option deletes all macros, including macros
not infected by a virus.
/CONTACT
<message>
On-access
scanning only
Displays specified message when a virus is
detected. This message cannot exceed 255
characters.
