Operational Error Messages (2)
Type of Test / Error Message Probable Cause / Solution
Directory: an attempt was made to save an
entry without a name (no characters were
entered).
(Please enter some characters into the
‘name’ field.)
Log empty: An attempt was made to view an
empty Distress or Ordinary Message Log.
(No messages were received.)
Busy DSC Channel.
If not sending a Distress message, and if the
DSC Channel is not free, then a message
‘Sending’ is displayed, while the channel is
busy (radio not squelched).
Busy DSC Channel.
If the radio is squelched it will look for a free
DSC Channel after 1-10 seconds (random).
After 4.5 minutes without a free DSC
Channel or after Reset is pressed the
display shows ‘DSC Aborted’.
