IMPORTANT
Pre-Installation
WARNING
  The installer must determine and follow all applicable codes and 
regulations. This equipment presents hazards of electricity, ro-
tating parts, sharp edges, heat and weight. Failure to read and 
follow these instructions can result in property damage, severe 
personal injury or death. This  equipment  must  be  installed  by 
experienced, trained personnel only.
 WARNING
1.  To prevent damage, do not operate this equipment 
for supplementary heating and cooling during the 
construction period.
2. Inspectthecartonforanyspecictaggingnumbers
indicatedbythefactoryperarequestfromtheinstalling
contractor. At this time the voltage, phase and capacity 
shouldbecheckedagainsttheplans.
3. Checktheunitsizeagainsttheplanstoverifythattheunit
isbeinginstalledinthecorrectlocation.
4. Beforeinstallation,checktheavailableceilingheight
versus the height of the unit.
5.  Note the location and routing of water piping, condensate 
drain piping, and electrical wiring. The locations of these 
itemsareclearlymarkedonsubmittaldrawings.
6. Theinstallingcontractorwillnditbenecialtoconfer
withpiping,sheetmetal,andelectricalforemenbefore
installing any unit.
Notes: 1. Check the unit data plate for correct voltage with 
  the plans before installing the equipment. Also, make 
  sure all electrical ground connections are made in 
  accordance with local code.
  2. When installing a MicroTech III Horizontal   
  unit size 007, 009 or 012 which are provided with 
  a factory-mounted BACnet communication module, 
  it is suggested that the MAC address dip switches 
  on the communication module be set prior to 
  installing the unit in the ceiling. Access to the dip 
  switches may be limited when the unit is installed.
7.  The contractor shall cover the units to protect the 
machinesduringnishingofthebuilding.Thisiscritical
whilesprayingreproongmaterialonbarjoists,
sandblasting,spraypaintingandplastering.Ifplasticlm
isnotavailable,theshippingcartonmaybemodiedto
cover the units during construction.
8. Removeallshippingblocksinthefanwheel.
9. Changetheairowdirectionfromstraightdischargeto
enddischargeorviceversabeforetheunitisinstalledin
the ceiling. Refer to "Air Discharge Conversion" on page 
5.
Receiving and Storage
  Sharp edges can  cause personal injury. Avoid  contact with 
them. Use care and wear protective clothing, safety glasses and 
gloves when handling parts and servicing heat pumps.
CAUTION
Uponreceiptoftheequipment,checkcartonforvisible
damage.Makeanotationontheshipper’sdeliveryticket
beforesigning.Ifthereisanyevidenceofroughhandling,
immediatelyopenthecartonstocheckforconcealeddamage.
If any damage is found, notify the carrier within 48 hours to 
establishyourclaimandrequesttheirinspectionandareport.
TheWarrantyClaimsDepartmentshouldthenbecontacted.
Do not stand or transport the machines on end. For storing, 
eachcartonismarkedwith“up”arrows.
Intheeventthatelevatortransfermakesup-endedposition-
ingunavoidable,donotoperatethemachineuntilithasbeen
in the normal upright position for at least 24 hours.
Temporarystorageatthejobsitemustbeindoor,completely
sheltered from rain, snow, etc. High or low temperatures 
naturally associated with weather patterns will not harm 
the units. Excessively high temperatures, 140°F (60°C) and 
higher, may deteriorate certain plastic materials and cause 
permanent damage.
IMPORTANT
  This  product  was  carefully  packed  and  thoroughly  inspected 
before  leaving  the  factory.  Responsibility  for  its  safe  delivery 
was assumed by the carrier upon acceptance of the shipment. 
Claims for loss or damage sustained in transit must therefore be 
made upon the carrier as follows:
  VISIBLE LOSS OR DAMAGE
  Any external evidence of loss or damage must be noted on the 
freight bill or carrier’s receipt, and signed by the carrier’s agent. 
Failure to  adequately  describe  such external evidence of loss 
or damage may result in the carrier’s refusal to honor a damage 
claim. The form required to le such a claim will be supplied by 
the carrier.
  CONCEALED LOSS OR DAMAGE
  Concealed loss or damage means loss or damage which does 
not become apparent until the product has been unpacked. The 
contents may be damaged in transit due to rough handling even 
though the carton may not show external damages. When the 
damage is discovered upon unpacking, make a written request 
for inspection by the carrier’s agent within fteen (15) days of 
the delivery date and le a claim with the carrier.
