WhenthewallthermostatiscallingforCOOLING,thereversingvalvedirectstheowoftherefrigerant,ahotgas,leavingthe
compressortothewater-to-refrigerantheatexchanger.Heretheheatisremovedbythewaterandthehotgascondensestobecome
aliquid.Theliquidthenowsthroughathermalexpansionmeteringsystemtotheair-to-refrigerantheatexchangercoil.Theliq-
uidthenevaporatesbecomingagas,atthesametimeabsorbingheatandcoolingtheairpassingoverthesurfacesofthecoil.The
refrigerantthenowsasalowpressuregasthroughthereversingvalveandbacktothesuctionsideofthecompressortocomplete
the cycle.

water.Therefrigerantthenowsasalowpressuregasthroughthereversingvalveandbacktothesuctionsideofthecompressor
to complete the cycle.
