Unit Location
1. Locate the unit in an area that allows for easy removal
ofthelterandaccesspanels.Leaveaminimumof18"
of clearance around the heat pump for easy removal
of the entire unit (if necessary), and to perform routine
maintenance,ortroubleshooting.Providesufcientroom
tomakewater,electricalandductconnections.
2. Thecontractorshouldmakesurethatadequateceiling
panel access exists, including clearance for hanger
brackets,ductcollarsandttingsatwaterandelectrical
connections.
3. Allowadequateroombelowtheunitforacondensatetrap
anddonotlocatetheunitabovepipes.
4. Eachunitissuspendedfromtheceilingbyfourthreaded
rods.Therodsareattachedtotheunitcornersbyahanger
bracketthrougharubberisolator.
Do not use rods smaller than shown in Figure 2. The rods must
be securely anchored to the ceiling or to the bar joists.
CAUTION
5. Eachunitisfurnishedwithahangerkit.Thekitis
shippedunassembledandincludeshangerbrackets,
rubberisolators,washers,boltsandlockwashers.Layout
the threaded rods per the dimension in Figure 1 and the
detail in Figure 2.
6. Whenattachingthehangerrodstotheunit,adoublenut
isrecommendedsincevibrationcouldloosenasingle
nut.Theinstallerisresponsibleforprovidingthehexnuts
when installing hanger rods.
7. Leaveminimum3"(76mm)extrathreadedrodbelowthe
doublenutsorminimum3"(76mm)clearancebetween
topofunitandceilingabovetofacilitatetoppanel
removal for servicing.
