2.03 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
The units shall include a chassis, coil(s), fan deck with
blower(s) / blower housing and motor(s). Steel parts exposed
to moisture shall be galvanized and insulated to prevent
condensation. The complete fan assembly shall be easily
removable for service and maintenance. A quick-connect
motor electric plug shall be provided. Standard chassis shall
be 18 gauge galvanized steel. Units shall be thermally and
acoustically insulated with ½" matte-face berglass insulation
[1/4" closed cell material].
A. CABINET
1. Exposed Cabinet unit panels shall be fabricated
of heavy 18 ga [16 ga] steel. Surfaces shall
have baked-on powder nish in Antique Ivory
[Cupola White] [Soft Gray] [Off White] [Putty
Beige] color. Finish must meet 125-hour salt
spray test per ASTM B117 specications.

3. Stamped discharge air grille shall be recessed
to resist condensate formation. [Unit shall be
equipped with double-deection discharge
grille]
4. Individual removable side and back panels shall
be furnished to allow full access to fans, motors,
valves, piping, electrical connections and
optional secondary drain pan
5. Hinged bottom door shall be furnished to allow
easy access to lter, and main drain pan.
6. Cabinet shall be thermally and acoustically
insulated with ½" matte-face berglass
insulation [1/4" closed cell material]. Insulation
shall meet minimum K value of 0.24 (BTU-in) /
(hr-ft

-°F) and rated for maximum air velocity of
5000 fpm. Fiberglass insulation conforms to
a. ASTM C1071 (including C665)
b. UL 181 for erosion
c. 25/50 rating for ame spread/smoke
developed per ASTM E-84,UL 723 and
NFPA 90A
[Elastomeric Closed Cell Foam Insulation shall conform to
a. NFPA 90A for re, smoke and melting
b. UL 181 for erosion
c. 25/50 rating for ame spread/smoke
developed per ASTM E-84,UL 723 and
NFPA 90A
d. antimicrobial performance rating of 0, no
observed growth, per ASTM G-21]
B. H I DE AWAY
1. Unit shall be supplied with return plenum
complete with lter frame and lter. The plenum
shall be fabricated of 18 gauge galvanized steel.
The inside plenum surface shall be insulated
with ½" matte-face berglass insulation [1/4"
closed cell material]. Plenum insulation shall
meet minimum K value of 0.24 (BTU-in)/(hr-ft

°F) and rated for maximum air velocity of 5000
fpm. Fiberglass insulation conforms to
