Making the MIDI Settings
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a standard that allows performance data and other information to be
exchanged among electronic musical instruments and computers. With a MIDI cable connecting MIDI connectors
equipped device, you can play multiple instruments with a single keyboard, have multiple instruments perform in
ensemble, program the settings to change kits automatically to match the performance as the song progress, and
more.
MIDI Connection
MIDI IN: This terminal receives MIDI data from an external MIDI device.
MIDI OUT: This terminal transmits data from the digital drum to other MIDI devices.
USB Connection
The USB connector allows you to connect the digital drum directly to your computer. It can be connected without
installing a driver in Windows XP/Vista/Win7 or MAC OSX environments. The digital drum will be recognized as a
“USB Audio device” to receive and transmit MIDI messages through a single USB cable. The USB port is used only
for MIDI messages (MIDI via USB)
Note:
When the USB port is connected to a computer, all MIDI messages will be received and transmitted via USB.
If the digital drum is not yet in UTILITY menu, press The
[UTILITY] button to enter it. Press the [PAGE] or [UTILITY]
button, select Local mode pages. The display will show:
Press the [ ] or [ ] button, set local mode to ON or OFF.
Local Mode
Local OFF: The pads and internal sequencer are disconnected
from the digital drum’s internal sound generator.
Striking the pads does not cause sound to be
produced by the internal sound generator.
Local ON: The pads and internal sequencer are connected to
the digital drum’s internal sound generator. Sounds
are produced by the internal sound generator when
the pads are struck.
GM Mode
Press the [PAGE] or [UTILITY] button, select GM mode pages.
The display will show:
Press the [ ] or [ ] button, set GM mode to ON or OFF.

Sync Mode
Press the [START/STOP] button to start or stop songs playback,
the digital drum will transmit the MIDI system real-time
Message: FA or FC.

MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital InterfaceI is een standaard die het mogelijk maakt uitvoeringsdata en andere informatie uit te
wisselen tussen elektronische muziekinstrumenten en computers. Met een MIDI-kabel die MIDI-connectors vam apparaten
verbindt, kun je meerdere instrumenten met één keyboard bespelen, meerdere instrumenten als ensemble laten fungeren, de
verandering van de instellingen van kits programmeren zodat die gedurende de somg worden aangepast en nog veel meer.
MIDI-aansluitingen
MIDI IN: Deze aansluiting ontvangt MIDI-data van een extern MIDI-apparaat.
MIDI OUT: Deze aansluiting verzendt data van de digitale drum naar andere MIDI-apparaten.
USB-aansluiting
De USB-connector maakt het mogelijk om de digitale drum rechtstreeks op je computer aan te sluiten. Dit kan zonder bij
Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 of Mac OS zonder drivers te hoeven installeren. De digitale drum wordt herkend als een “USB
Audio Device” en verzendt en ontvangt dan MIDI-boodschappen d.m.v. een enkele USB-kabel. De USB-poort wordt
uitsluitend gebruikt voor MIDI-commandoʼs (MIDI via USB).
Opmerking:
Wanneer de USB-poort is verbonden met een computer, worden alle MIDI-commandoʼs ontvangen en verzonden via USB.
Als de digitale drum nog niet in het UTILITY-menu staat, druk op de
UTILITY-toets om toegang te krijgen. Druk op de PAGE- of de UTILITY-
toets, kies de Local Mode-pagina. Het venster ziet er uit als hiernaast
aangegeven.
Druk op de toetsen < of > om de Local Mode aan (ON) of uit (OFF) te
zetten.
Local Mode
Local OFF: De pads en de interne sequencer zijn niet verbonden met de
interne soundgenerator van de digitale drum. Bespelen van de
pads resulteert niet in een geluid uit de interne
soundgenerator.
Local ON: De pads en de interne sequencer zijn wél verbonden met de
interne sopundgenerator van de digitale drum. Wanneer een
pad wordt bespeeld, produceert de interne soundgenerator
geluid.
GM-modus
Druk op de PAGE- of de UTILITY-toets, kies de GM Mode-pagina. Het
venster ziet er uit als hiernaast aangegeven:
Druk op de toetsen < of >, zet de GM-modus aan (ON) of uit (OFF). Zie
Gebruik als geluidsmodule.
Sync-modus
Druk op de START/STOP-toets om de weergave van songs te starten of te
beëindigen. De digitale drum verzendt dan een MIDI realtime commando:
FA of FC.
