HD Decoder Card Installation Guide Chapter 1: Introduction The MediaSonic MS9100 and MS9200 HD Decoder cards are PCI devices that when installed in a standard desktop Personal Computer will allow the user to display single channel analog (MS9100) or digital (MS9200) High Definition encoded program material. The cards decode MPEG MP@HL transport streams and output either SMPTE 296 or SMPTE 274 formats as defined by the ATSC (Advanced Television Standards Committee).
HD Decoder Card Installation Guide Chapter 2: Installation Overview MS9100 HD Decoder Card MS9100 Package contents: 1. MS9100 HD Decoder Card with: Analog HD Video output/Black-burst/SPDIF/Timecode connectors 2. 26 pin ribbon cable 3. “Y” adaptor cable (2x RCA male to 1x 4 pin mini DIN) 4. Two female/female RCA adaptor connectors 5. CD-ROM (includes all software necessary for installation and operation of the HD Decoder Card, as well as a Video Test File) 6.

HD Decoder Card Installation Guide Chapter 3: Installing the HD Decoder Card Note 1: Observe precautions for handling static sensitive electronic components during installation of the HD Decoder Card. Note 2: Dedicate three adjacent PCI slots to the installation of the Decoder Card(s). This will ensure proper ventilation, and accommodate the required daughter cards (when using the MS9200). To install the MS9100 HD Decoder Card: 1. Remove the computer cover to gain access to the PCI card slots 2.
HD Decoder Card Installation Guide To install the MS9200 HD Decoder Card (Rev. C) 1. Remove the computer cover to gain access to the PCI card slots 2. Remove the PCI slot covers in the card position(s). Put aside the screws for future use 3. Connect the Digital Card daughter card A to the main HD Card with the two (2) ribbon cables provided 4. Orient connectors CN6 and CN7 as shown in Figure 2, (red stripe marks pin 1) 5.

D HD Card utilizes an additional daughter card (Daughter Card – B) as well as offering all of the features of the Rev. C card described above. 1. HD Decoder Card Installation Guide Chapter 4: Installing Drivers The Found New Hardware Wizard Upon booting-up the computer will display the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box: This dialog box provides the opportunity to install the drivers necessary for the correct functioning of the newly installed HD Decoder card. Click “Next” to get started.

Click “Next” The following dialog box will appear: You are required to perform a search for the required data. Insert the CD provided with the HD Card and click “Browse” to navigate the CD.. You may activate MGI SoftDVD MAX by double clicking the icon in the folder above or the desktop icon.
