Installation Guide

Erin Adams Collection Installation Instructions
Prior to Installation
Erin Adams Collection tiles have a TCNA variation rating of V2. Each carton to tile will contain all variations of glaze color/shade within the
range, but some cartons may exhibit a slightly different balance of variation than others. For this reason, all mosaics and field tiles must be
dry-laid before installation to ensure proper random shade variation and prevent light and dark patches due to similarly-shaded materials being
installed directly adjacent to one another.
Cutting
All cutting must be performed on a suitable wet saw with a new blade appropriate for the material.
Substrate
All tile products must be installed over a substrate suitable to the installation location. Refer to current TCNA installation guidelines for suitable
substrate materials and preperation.
Installation
All ceramic and porcelain field tile products must be installed using a suitable mastic for wall installations and/or thinset for flooring
applications. Refer to the current TCNA handbook for the appropriate adhesives and trowel methods for your particular installation. The Erin
Adams Collection of tile is handamde, and there will be slight size variations between some tiles as the molding and kiln drying proccesses
cause the tiles to shrink at slightly different rates. This size difference will be minimal and is a normal attribute of handmade tile, but Medici &
Co. recommends a grout joint width of at least 3/16" to allow for these variations.
Sealing
The finished installation should be sealed with a high-quality grout sealer after grout has dried completely to ensure the grout is protected. The
tiles themselves are glazed and do not need to be sealed.
Grout
Grout color to be specified by designer/product specifier. Sanded or unsanded grout can be used on all non-crackle glazed ceramic field tile.
Refer to current TCNA installation guidelines for minimum/maximum grout joint widths depending on type of grout used. Fully-installed and
grouted material must be sealed per TCNA guidelines (including crackle-glazed materials that were sealed prior to grouting).
Limitations of Liability
Medici & Co. is not responsible for any installation and cannot replace materials due to improper installation.
Warranty
Installer to inspect all materials upon receipt and submit to the designer/product specifier, through photographs or in-person inspection,
examples of the tile range for approval. Written approval of materials must be received by Medici & Co., either by mail or email
(info@mediciandco.com), within 15 days of receipt of materials. Special-order and/or custom materials are not returnable unless a physical
manufacturing defect is present. No returns or warranty claims may be submitted on any product outside the specified warranty return period.
