Installation Guide

Nova Roma Collection Installation Instructions
Prior to Installation
Nova Roma Collection tiles have a TCNA variation rating of V1-V4. Each sheet of mosaic will contain all variations of glaze color/shade
within the range on each sheet, but some sheets may exhibit a slightly different balance of variation than others. For this reason, all mosaics
must be dry-laid before installation to ensure proper random shade variation and prevent light and dark patches due to similarly-shaded
materials being installed directly adjacent to one another.
Cutting
All cutting must be performed on a suitable wet saw with a new blade appropriate for the material. Tile nips may be used for small or detailed
cuts.
Substrate
All tile products must be installed over a substrate suitable to the installation location. Nova Roma Collection is a translucent glass, so dark-
colored substrates and adhesives may telegraph through lighter colors of the tile. Medici & Co. recommends painting the backing material with
a white primer prior to applying mastic, and using a white mastic to prevent discoloring the finished installation. Refer to current TCNA
installation guidelines for suitable substrate materials and preperation.
Adhesive Installation: Mosaics
All mesh-mounted mosaic products must be installed using a suitable mastic for wall installations and/or thinset for flooring applications. Refer
to the current TCNA handbook for the appropriate adhesives and trowel methods for your particular installation.
Sealing
Nova Roma Collection mosaics should be sealed with a high-quality grout sealer after grout has dried completely. The glass tile itself does not
require sealing.
Grout
Grout color to be specified by designer/product specifier. Grout joint widths between full sheets of mosaic products should match the factory
grout joint width within the sheet. Unsanded grout should be used on all glass, metal, hand-painted, and metallic-glazed tile. Refer to current
TCNA installation guidelines for minimum/maximum grout joint widths depending on type of grout used. Fully-installed and grouted material
must be sealed per TCNA guidelines (including crackel-glazed materials that were sealed prior to grouting).
Limitations of Liability
Medici & Co. is not responsible for any installation and cannot replace materials due to improper installation.
Warranty
Installer to inspect all materials upon receipt and submit to the designer/product specifier, through photographs or in-person inspection,
examples of the tile range for approval. Written approval of materials must be received by Medici & Co., either by mail or email
(info@mediciandco.com), within 15 days of receipt of materials. Special-order and/or custom materials are not returnable unless a physical
manufacturing defect is present. No returns or warranty claims may be submitted on any installed product or uninstalled product outside the
specified warranty return period.
