Preparation Opening the battery and card compartment The battery and card compartment is located on the base of the camera. Hold the camcorder in your hand so that the cover of the battery compartment is pointing upwards. Push the lock of the cover in the direction of the arrow. Inserting and removing the battery Place the battery into the compartment intended for it as shown, with the lettering pointing upwards. ATTENTION! Never reverse the polarity.
EN Inserting and removing SD/SDHC memory cards EN Take an SD/SDHC memory card and push it into the SD/SDHC card slot as shown here. DE Press the memory card into the slot until a click can be heard and then release it, to remove the memory card. The memory card will be pushed slightly out of the shaft automatically, so that you can now remove it.
Charging the battery Proceed as follows to charge the battery: Take the USB cable of the accompanying USB power pack and connect it to the USB connection of the camcorder. Push the USB power pack into a mains socket, if you use it. The Video LED and Replay LED on the back of the device will flash during the charging process. The Video LED and the Replay LED will go out when the battery is completely charged. Then remove the USB power pack from the mains socket and the USB cable from the device.
EN DC Mode EN The device will be operated in the DC mode (mains operation) and the symbol will appear in the display if the USB power pack is connected and you switch on the device. Use this mode for 24-hour recording, for example.
Basic Operation Switching the camcorder on and off Open the LC display to activate the camcorder. The camcorder will switch on. You can also press the ON/OFF button to switch on the camcorder. The Video LED will shine. Press the ON/OFF button or simply close the display to switch off the camcorder. The Video LED will go out. Automatic switching off The camcorder will switch off automatically if no entry has been made for longer than 3 minutes and no recording is being made.
EN Setting the time and the date The setting for the time and the date will appear when you switch the device on for the first time. INFORMATION Stabilization, time lapse and slow motion cannot be used at the same time. Stabilization and Night mode cannot be used at the same time. Zoom function You can enlarge your subjects during the recording of videos or photos with the zoom.
EN Stabilization function Use the Stabilization function to reduce any shaking of the recorded image and to take a smoother video in this way. Press the STABILIZATION button in the Recording mode. The EN DE NL Stabilization symbol will appear in the LC display.
Making Videos and Photos Videos Proceed as follows to record a video: Open the LC display or switch the camcorder on by pressing the ON/OFF button . Select the required picture section with the TELE/WIDE ANGLE button. Press the RECORDING BUTTON to start the video recording. INFORMATION: The microphone will be switched on during video recordings. Sound will be recorded automatically. The time (hours: minutes: seconds) will be shown on the LC display during the video recording.
EN Photos EN Proceed as follows to take photos: DE Open the LC display or switch the camcorder on by pressing on the ON/OFF button . Select the required picture section with the TELE/WIDE ANGLE button. Press the PHOTO button down half-way, until the colour of the frame for the sharpness setting changes from white to green. Press the PHOTO button down completely to take the photo.
Replaying Recordings and Viewing Photos You will be able to view or process your photos/videos in the Replay menu. Open the menu by touching the LC display and tap on the Replay symbol . You can also press the Replay button to do this. Then tap the Video or Photo symbol, according to whether you want to replay videos or view photos. Video Replay Tap on the respective or field to replay or pause the video. Stroke the surface to the left or the right or tap on the reach the previous/next video.

Showing Videos and Photos on a TV Device Connection to an HDMI television Switch the television on. Connect the HDMI connection of the camcorder to the corresponding HDMI input on your television through the HDMI cable supplied with the device. You will be able to show the videos and photos on the television after you have set the corresponding HDMI input on it.

Transferring Videos and Photos to a Computer You can transfer photos and videos that are stored in the camera, in order to send them as an email or to put them on the Internet then.
