Neurostimulator – The neurostimulator is
the power source for your neurostimulation
system. It contains electronics that generate
the electrical pulses.
Lead(s) – A lead is a thin wire covered with
a protective coating. A lead has small metal
electrodes near the tip. The electrodes
transmit electrical pulses to the area where
your pain signals are blocked.
Extension(s) – An extension is a thin wire,
covered with a protective coating, that
connects the neurostimulator to a lead.
Patient programmer – A patient
programmer is a hand-held device that you
use to select and adjust your stimulation. A
