7 Preparing milk froth
Prerequisite: The appliance must be ready for operation.
Make sure that the chrome-plated outer cover of the steam pipe is pushed •
downwards (Fig. J, No. 1).
Press the button for steam dispensing .•
The standby symbol → is ashing. The appliance heats up.
Subsequently the symbol for the valve will be illuminated.
Fill the vessel with milk to one third maximum; when frothing the volume •
of milk increases signicantly.
Hold the vessel containing the milk under the steam pipe. Ensure that the •
tip of the steam pipe is immersed in the milk.
Warning!
There is a risk of burn injuries and scalding due to hot steam and
the hot steam pipe.
Never reach into the escaping steam. –
Never touch the steam pipe during use. –
Turn the valve switch (Fig. • A, no. 11) clockwise to open the valve.
The valve symbol → will ash. The hot steam coming out of the steam pipe
froths the milk and heats it at the same time. You will achieve better frothing
results if you move the vessel containing the milk up and down while froth-
ing.
Turn the valve switch anticlockwise to close the valve and end the frothing •
process. The volume of milk should have doubled and the vessel should
be warm to the touch.
Immediately rinse the steam nozzle after every use by dispensing steam or •
hot water.
