INSTALLATION AC ADAPTER CONNECTION Connect the AC adapter (included) to an AC outlet having 120V, 60Hz AC only. Plug the small end into the DC jack on the rear of the unit. CAUTION: Do not touch the AC adapter with wet hands. Fully insert the plug without exposing any part of the blade. OPERATION TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO 1 2 2 1 MANUAL TUNING: Repeatedly press the Tune/Skip/Search l 1 or m 2 button to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears. The display will revert back to the time display after five seconds. Press the AM/FM/Power On button to turn the unit on and select radio. Repeatedly press 1 the AM/FM/Power On button to select AM or FM.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) 1 2 1 RADIO PRESETS–Up to 9 AM and 9 FM 3 2 4 Press the AM/FM/Power On button to turn the unit on and select radio. Repeatedly press the AM/FM/Power 1 On button to select AM or FM. Select a station using the Tune/Skip/ Search l 1 or m 2 button. Press the PROGRAM button 3; the preset number will blink in the display. Within three seconds, press the PRESETS button 4 until the desired memory number appears in the display.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) AUTOMATIC PRESET SEEK To have the unit automatically seek through the radio stations and program the first 9 strong stations, perform the steps as follows: 1 2 Press the AM/FM/Power On button to turn the unit on and select radio. Repeatedly press the AM/FM/Power 1 On button to select AM or FM. Press the SEEK button 1; the unit will then seek through all of the radio stations and program the first 9 strong stations. When done, it will stop on the first preset.
TO PLAY A CD 1 OPERATION (CONTINUED) 2 With a CD inserted (see previous page), press the Play/Pause (®p)/CD/ Power On button to turn the unit on and select CD; playback will start automatically. 2 3 2 If in the Stop mode, press the Play/ Pause (®p)/CD/Power On button to start playback. TO PAUSE PLAYBACK, press the Play/Pause (®p)/CD/Power On button again; the elapsed track 2time will blink in the display. Press again to resume playback.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO REPEATEDLY PLAY BACK ONE TRACK 1 2 With a CD inserted (see page 9), press the Play/Pause (®p)/CD/ Power On button to turn the unit on and select CD; playback will start automatically. 2 1 Press the Tune/Skip/Search l 1 or m 2 button to select a track to repeat. 2 3 2 1 TO REPEATEDLY PLAY BACK ALL TRACKS 1 Press the CD MODE button 1 once; “REPEAT” will appear in the display and the unit will play the same track over and over until the STOP (■)/OFF button 2 is pressed.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO PROGRAM THE MEMORY (UP TO 20 TRACKS) 1 2 2 1 With a CD inserted (see page 9), press the Play/Pause (®p)/CD/ Power On button to turn the unit on and select CD; playback will start automatically. Press the STOP (■)/OFF button 2 to stop automatic playback. 3 2 1 Press the PROGRAM button 1 once; “P 01” (program number), “00” track number and the Program indicator will appear in the display.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) RANDOM PLAYBACK 1 2 To play the tracks on the CD in a random order, while in the Stop mode, press the CD MODE button three times; “RANDOM” will appear in the display. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p)/CD/ Power On button 1; the unit will randomly play each track on the CD and then stop. If you want to randomly playback the tracks repeatedly, press the CD MODE button 2 once more; “REPEAT ALL RANDOM” will appear in the display. 1 2 TO CANCEL RANDOM MODE, press the CD MODE button twice.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ACTUAL TIME 1 2 2 With the power off, press the TIME button; the time will blink. 1 Press the MINUTE button 1 to set the present minute and the HOUR button 2 to set the present hour. Make sure to set the correct AM/PM setting. 3 Press the TIME button (or wait approx. 15 seconds) and the time will be set.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ALARM TIME 1 2 2 3 1 4 With the power off, press the desired ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button; the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 time and settings will appear. 3 1 2 1 Press and hold the desired ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button; the alarm time will blink. Press the MINUTE button 3 to set the alarm minute and the HOUR button 4 to set the alarm hour. Make sure to set the correct AM/PM setting. OPERATION (CONTINUED) NOTES: • It is not necessary to set the volume level for the alarm. When the alarm time is reached, the alarm volume level will be set to the default (Medium Level) and it will increase one step every five seconds continuously until the maximum volume level is reached. • • • • When the actual time matches the selected preset alarm time(s), if set to Radio or Buzzer, the unit will automatically turn on for 20 minutes and then shut off.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF 1 1 2 SNOOZE AND SLEEP 1 DISPLAY DIM BUTTON 1 To shut the alarm off, press the desired ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button and the alarm time will be reset for the next day. Press the desired ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button repeatedly until the alarm time and the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 indicator disappears from the display to turn off the alarm and not set it for the next day.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the disc label. • Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you experience a problem with this unit, check the chart below before calling for service. SYMPTOM Unit will not turn on. Disc will not play. CAUSE AC adapter is not connected. CD compartment door not closed. Disc inserted incorrectly. Dirty or defective CD. Moisture condensation on disc. No sound. Volume setting is set to minimum. Defective disc. Erratic playback. Dirty or defective disc. Time reset to “12:00”. Batteries connected improperly, not connected or dead. Clock not set.
