POWER SOURCE AC CONNECTION Insert the AC plug (with the 2 blades) into a conveniently-located AC outlet having 120V, 60Hz. AC Outlet NOTE: The AC plug supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock. If the AC plug AC Plug does not fit into a nonpolarized AC outlet, do not file or cut the wide blade. It is the user’s responsibility to have an electrician replace the obsolete outlet. BACKLIGHT When the unit is operating on AC power, the LCD backlight will always be on.
OPTIONAL CONNECTION VIDEO OUT JACK (Rear of Unit) (For iPod® Photo & iPod® with Video [5th generation] only; not for iPod® nano or other iPod® models.) If you are using an iPod ® that has photo/video capability, and your TV has a Video input, you can connect the Mi4002 to the external TV with a Video cable. You will then be able to view the photos/videos from the iPod® on your external TV. NOTES: • Set the TV’s TV/VIDEO button or switch to the VIDEO 1setting.
1 INSERTING AN IPOD® 2 Locate the correct iPod® Adapter to use as shown on pages 16-17. Insert the adapter into the cavity (as shown), making sure the tabs are facing front, and slip the tabs into place. Press the rear side of the adapter until it is positioned inside the cavity. NOTE: To remove the adapter, insert your finger (or other object) into the adapter, then gently pull the adapter out to remove it. If using the dock: Insert the iPod® onto the dock.
OPERATION USING AN IPOD® WITH THIS UNIT 1 2 Operate the iPod ® as per its owner’s manual and the sound will be heard through the Mi4002’s 1 1 speakers. Adjust the volume as desired by pressing the Volume Up/Down buttons. With an iPod® connected (see previous page), turn the Mi4002 on by pressing the POWER button (if it is not on already); the iPod® icon 1 will1appear in the display if the unit is in the iPod® mode.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) USING THE RADIO 1 2 Turn the Mi4002 on by pressing the Power button; “AUX” or the AM/FM frequency will appear in the display. 1 1 2 If “AUX” appears, press the RADIO/AUX IN button 1 to select AM/FM. Then press the BAND button 2 repeatedly to select the desired band (AM or FM). NOTE: If an FM station is broadcasting in stereo, “FM ST” will appear in the display. 1 3 4 Adjust the volume as desired by pressing the Volume Up/Down buttons.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) SETTING THE RADIO PRESETS (10 EACH BAND) 1 2 Follow Steps 1-3 on the previous page to tune a station. Press and hold the MEMORY/CLK SET 1 button; “P01” (if1 no presets have ever been set) will appear in the display (“01” will blink). 1 2 Press the TUNE Up/Down/Skip n / o buttons 1 to select a desired Preset (P01-P10).
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ACTUAL TIME 1 2 Within 15 seconds, press the TUNE Up/Down/Skip n / o 1 between 1 buttons to select “12Hr” and “24Hr”. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to set the current hour (be sure to correctly select between AM and PM) and current minute. With the power off, press the MEMORY/CLK SET button until “12Hr” or “24Hr” blinks in the 1 1 display. 3 Press the MEMORY/CLK SET button, the actual time will flash then it will light solid, and the time 1 1 will be set.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ALARM TIME 1 1 2 2 With the power off, press either the ALARM 1 button 1 (to set Alarm 1) or ALARM 2 button 2 (to set Alarm 2); the currently set alarm time will appear in the display. 3 1 2 3 Repeat Step 2 to set the alarm minute. Then press the ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button to set the desired alarm. Select wake to Buzzer, Radio or iPod® by pressing the TUNE Up/Down/Skip n / o buttons 3 to set the alarm type ( , or ).
OPERATION (CONTINUED) NOTES: • It is not necessary to set the volume level for the alarm. When the alarm time is reached, the alarm volume level will be set to the minimum and it will increase one step every five seconds continuously until it reaches Level 23. • When the actual time matches the selected preset alarm time(s), if set or will blink), the to Radio or Buzzer (the alarm indicator with unit will automatically turn on for 60 minutes and then shut off.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF 1 Press the POWER button to turn off the alarm and the alarm will be set for the next day. 1 1 2 1 2 To not set the alarm for the next day, once you have turned the power off, press the ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button (which corresponds to the alarm that was set) until "AL1" or "AL2" disappear from the display. SNOOZE 1 2 While the alarm is sounding, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button, the Alarm 1 or 2 indicator will blink.
SLEEP 1 OPERATION (CONTINUED) 2 With the unit in the AUX IN, iPod® or Radio mode, press the SNOOZE/ SLEEP button; the SLEEP indicator and 1 the display "90" will appear in for three 1 seconds which indicates the unit will turn off after 90 minutes. Repeatedly press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button to select the SLEEP time, between 10-90 minutes (i.e., "20"–turns off automatically after 20 minutes, "30"–turns off automatically after 30 minutes, etc.).
