steps below to create this elegant table, or modify our

design for a custom look.

Materials

tep 1: Measure boards

Measure and cut four 5/4

x 6" x 10' boards into 56" boards.

Measure and cut one 5/4" x 6" x 8' board into two 38-1/2" boards.

Step 2: Lay out boards

Lay out seven boards while making sure to alternate

the grain pattern to help prevent warping.

Step 3: mark boards Mark on the boards where the pocket holes will go. Mark 2" in from each end and then space out the marks every 6" to 8". Step 4: drill Using a pocket hole jig, drill pocket holes at each of the marks. Step 5: Glue Glue the long end of the boards and attach to one another. Step 6: Screw together boards Using pocket-hole screws, screw together boards. Let the glue dry. Step 7: clamp Clamp a level near the edge of the boards and cut using a circular saw to get a uniform edge.

Step 8: mark boards Mark pocket-hole locations in the middle of each board and drill pocket-holes for the breadboard ends. Step 9: Glue & screw boards Glue the long edge of the breadboard ends and use a clamp to attach each end of the table top. Then screw the table top to the breadboard ends. Let the glue dry. Step 10: Measure & cut legs Measure and cut two 4" x 4" x 8' into four 29" table legs. Place table legs on the underside of the table. Measure the distance between the table legs.

Step 13: mark boards & clamp Mark the placement of the support boards. Clamp boards to the frame and attach to the aprons. Step 14: drill Mark and drill pocket-holes around the frame. Pocket-holes should be 2" from the ends and spaced out every 6"-8". Step 15: paint Paint the entire table frame. Step 16: sand table top Using an orbital sander, sand the table top to prevent splinters and remove any excess glue. Start with 80 grit and end with 220 grit.

Step 18: place frame Place frame back on the underside of the table top. Make sure legs are evenly spaced out from the edge. Step 19: attach frame Attach frame to table top. Step 20: apply finish Apply three coats of a polycrylic protective finish. Let dry and lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper between the first two coats. FOR MORE EASY HOW-TO PROJECTS, VISIT MENARDS.
