1. Install flush device and connect water hose between it and water tap.
2. Saltwater areas and boat in the water:
a. Raise sterndrive unit to full trailer position.
b. Install flush device over water intake holes.
c. Lower sterndrive unit to full down position.
3. Partially open water tap (approximately 1/2 maximum capacity) and allow cooling
system to fill completely. DO NOT use full water tap pressure.
CAUTION
Do not run engine above 1500 rpm when flushing. Suction created by seawater pick-
up pump may collapse flushing hose, causing engine to overheat.
4. Place remote control in NEUTRAL, idle speed position and start engine. Operate engine
at idle speed, in NEUTRAL, for about 10 minutes, or until discharge water is clear. Watch
temperature gauge on instrument panel to ensure that engine does not overheat.
5. Stop engine, turn off water tap and remove flush device.
